Chilly Boulder- Monday Afternoon

Dwight had spent the morning at the shop taking care of a few things and keeping busy. As afternoon came, he found himself getting a little restless and so he headed out for a bit and ended up a short time later sitting down with a rather impressive looking sundae at the Chilly Boulder.

While he enjoyed his thankfully pumpkin spice free treat, he fiddled with the new phone he had recently gotten. Dwight was admittedly not the most tech savy person but he could manage... until it turned out that a lot can happen witch techy stuff when you suddenly lose 10 years thanks to messy island time shenanigans.

He's here - not running like a crazy person for once.

Dwight frowned at the phone in his hands as he punched a few buttons and sighed.

"Hey Miguel. It's Dwight. New phone...trying to figure it out. Hope you get this ok."

Well, hopefully that worked.

Miguel got the text and raised an eyebrow at it before texting back.

You figured out texts, anyway. Big difference in a decade's tech?

He had no idea.

Dwight chuckled and shook his head as he texted back- slowly.

When you were already almost a decade behind for your old time... yeah. Whatever happened to a phone being just a phone?

Innovation and improvement is what happened Dwight- get with the program!

Miguel snorted and texted back.

When was that? Never seen one that's only a phone. Why bother?

Dwight made a face as he texted back.

Waaaay before your time. I was just getting into the whole smartphone craze... Stop making me feel so old damnit. Anyways how are things over your way?

TBF, you'd be about 120 now where/when I'm from. Miguel pointed out. Rosa dumped out COFFEE!

Emojis Dwight...they were called emojis.

Smelled like pumpkin spice. Because it was pumpkin spice flavored.

Don't worry, grandpa, you're picking up texting just fine.

Well I mean... pumpkin spice... but still, it's coffee!!!

And coffee definitely trumped any flavoring that you would put in it.

Oh thanks.... now if I can figure out these other dozen settings and buttons, I may actually be able to use this thing!

oh you know, the photo button, the email button, the voice mail button, the button for the internet... so many buttons. And tell Rosa if she's going to pour out perfectly good, albeit pumpkin spice, coffee to send to me instead!

So you know what the buttons are for. Press them. It's really not hard.

Thanks captain obvious... I think I'm getting the hang of it. Though whoever invented the selfie style photo needs to be shot.
