Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

The meeting with Flint had left Rey a little nervous, but this was a situation where she needed to tamp down those abandonment issues because she knew Silver could handle things.

Besides, she had training, and Poe wanted to see the place since he hadn't last time. BB-8 seemed pretty excited too, by the way he immediately rolled up the ramp to check it out.

Poe took one look at the obstacle course and said, "What the hell."

He'd seen some of the Ajan Kloss one. That was not in a warehouse.

"It has weather, too," Rey said helpfully.

[bb8_dad]

"So this is what you're doing out here," he said, taking in what all was involved with this thing.

"Why do you sound surprised?" Rey wondered. "It's training, just like home."

[bb8_dad]

"Which is why you could do it at home," Poe pointed out. "Don't say it's because of the boyfriend, he comes back with you."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's not," Rey said. "But I do have more time here to train, with someone who knows what the Jedi used to be. And I know I need to get home more, things have just been-"

[bb8_dad]

"Crazy. You said," Poe nodded. "We could use your help."

[thatwaslucky]

"You have my help," Rey told him, a little stunned at that.

[bb8_dad]

"Doesn't really seem like it," he said. "I want you to want to help."

[thatwaslucky]

In his defense...

"Poe, I want to help," Rey insisted. "I was trapped in a hole for weeks. I spent days as whatever the hell a woo girl is. I was just a cat for a week. How much help am I as a cat?"

So yeah. In his defense, that.

Yeah, okay, it sounded worse when it was all spelled out like that.

"Well you're not a cat now! I hate that you make me say sentences like that."

"Then put me on a mission now that I'm not!" she argued.

[bb8_dad]

"Fine."

That was actually what he wanted!

Anakin came in after a brief stop in the park. "Rey?"

[thatwaslucky]

"We're here," she called from the base of the course, where BB-8 was rolling himself back down.

"BB-8 wants to be a Jedi too?" Anakin asked, grinning.

[bb8_dad]

"I'm gonna put my foot down and sat my droid shouldn't be around more than the one lightsaber ever," Poe had to say.

He had no thumbs, he was at a disadvantage.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "Artoo's never shown off his lightsaber launching trick?"

[bb8_dad]

"Don't give him ideas!" Poe said.

At the same time Rey asked, "Could he do that?"

They had different parenting styles.

Anakin laughed harder. "Which one am I supposed to answer?"

[bb8_dad]

"Mine, don't give him ideas!" Poe said again, frowning at Rey.

[sith_happened]

"It's important to make him feel part of the group too," Anakin said, nodding.

"BB-8 is competent and can be trusted to take care of myself," Rey said firmly. "Though I will talk to Artoo."

[sith_happened]

"He has some stories," Anakin said with a smile.

Some entirely incomprehensible stories.

"Better him than Threepio," Poe said wryly.
