Although getting to visit with Colonel Bahamutt oh so handwavily and his newest caretaker this weekend had been a nice distraction, Sakaki was still terribly worried about how Tadakichi-san was doing. She was very tempted to just call Chiyo-chan for an update, but, also, she might be very distracted and disraught over the whole thing, so she didn't want to bother her. Instead, she would just have to sit and wait and try to distract herself further with some of her work for her vet program.

Of course, this distraction often meant her foolishly forgetting to keep a good distance from the cats, at one point just idly reaching out to pet on in passing, which meant that she was back in the vet's office for at least a small sliver of the day getting treated and patched up for cat bites and scratches again.

One of these days, maybe, she might actually get to pet one and not wind up draining the supplies of their first aid kit while she did it. Maybe.

After his classes, Kiem stopped by Furnado.

"Sakaki? Did you meet Colonel Bahamutt?"

"Oh!" Sakaki blinked out of her pensiveness and her homework to look at Kiem and smiled softly as she nodded a confirmation to his question. "Hello, Kiem. I did! And his new caretaker. It was a very nice surprise, and I think he's in very good hands with Iris. You ran into them, too?"

"I did," Kiem said. "It's good to know he has someone who looks after him, and Iris seems nice."

He smiled.

"At least you have a lot of pets to look after here. And they're all so... furry."
