Monday: Covent Garden Flowers

Nell didn't care that no one from home came or had come any of the previous weekends. It's not like she'd seen her parents since she'd turned twelve anyway. Nor her husband since she'd arrived here. Which was fine. Totally fine. Not a problem at all.

She didn't miss them all terribly or worry about them.

Except for where she did.

Still, she had a job to do, so she did it, even if she wasn't as cheerful as usual.

It had been constantly brought up by Doc that Goose needed to work on his apartment decor and Doc had suggested getting a plant or two to liven up the place.

Goose had no idea about plants so after his run he decided to stop by and see what options there were, “hello?” he called as he entered the store.

"Come on in," Nell said, brushing the dirt off her hands as she came in from out back. "Sorry, I was just repotting one of the aloe plants. What can I do for you?"

He nodded, "I was looking into the possibility of getting some plants?" he looked around, "I don't have much experience with them but I was told they can be good for apartments?" he really wasn't sure of any of this but well Doc had fully stocked up his kitchen, the least he could do was try and make his apartment more lively.

"Of course they can," Nell said with a smile. "They can add some color and they're good for the air too."

She gestured around the shop. "Do you see any here that look good to you?"

Goose looked around, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options, “are there plants that don’t require a lot of water?” he tried, “I sometimes get called home, often at a moments notice,” he explained hastily, in case she had doubts about selling him a plant and he couldn’t look after them.

"Sure," Nell said, heading over to the succulents. "These have lovely waxy leaves and lots of different colors. These over here even bloom. And these cacti are spikier, but still pretty interesting. None of them need much watering or care."

Goose nodded, looking them over, “I might take a couple of them then and see how I go?”

"Sounds good," Nell said, picking out a few of the more colorful for him. "How do these look?"

“I think they look good, thank you” he said, “I’m Shane Gooseman by the way, everyone calls me Goose,”

[mylandmyrules]

"Nice to meet you, Goose," Nell said warmly. "I'm Nell Ingram and everyone just calss me Nell."

"Same here Nell," he said with a small smile, "I will probably be back for more plants later, I've been told my apartment needs to look more lively," at least according to Doc it did.

"Then I look forward to seeing you again soon," she said cheerfully. "And we'll find you some more things to brighten your space!"
