The Sky Above Fandom, Sunday
The island had not let Vanessa leave yesterday the way she'd wanted to. And now it was a new day, and it was still not letting her. It was as if there was an invisible dome over the island that wouldn't budge or break, no matter how many times Vanessa charged at it with her wings and her claws, no matter how hard she tried to use her sonic scream against it.
She was going to keep trying, though.
She refused to submit to being trapped by a glorified hunk of rock.
(Sorry about the occasional almost-literally ear-piercing screeching coming from up above, people down on the ground.)
[ooc: Open, if you want to gawk at/try to flag down the angry winged lady made of metal (Vanessa Kapatelis/Silver Swan from Wonder Woman: Bloodlines)! Though SP warning, because my brain's timing is impeccable.]

"Yes, hi!" the blue man who very clearly appreciated a whole wing motif when he saw one, considering he himself was decked out to suite the theme as well, lifted a hand in a wave as he walked up into the air closer to the winged metal woman, though keeping what he hoped was still a safe distance. "Hello, there! Is everything....is everything quite alright up here?"

He took a moment, to consider the situation, to assess his options.
"Have you perhaps," he ventured with a note of light suggestion, "considered asking it nicely?"
He was, after all, a bard. What was the point of anything if he didn't believe wholeheartedly that one couldn't simply just charm their way out of any situation? Up to and including islands that won't let you leave?

Although right now Vanessa was content to stare at him like that was the most ridiculous -- "Are you stupid?"
Harsh, Vanessa.

He was getting the impression that this woman didn't exactly do nice. But he did seem to arch his brow in a way that seemed to suggest that she maybe shouldn't knock it until she'd at least tried it.
"So....what exactly happens?" he then wondered. "When you do try to leave?"
He hadn't exactly tried it himself quite yet; why would he? He'd only just arrived!

...and abruptly stopped as he found himself running almost headfirst into exactly the invisible barrier the woman had described.
"Now isn't that interesting?" he mused, frowning thoughtfully at it as he tried to figure out what might be done about it next.
Thankfully, it felt like perhaps he'd have a turn or two before his next round to figure it out!

It was a piercing, inhuman sound that could normally tear a hole in concrete, so... Sorry? But at least it wasn't directed at all towards the ground, so it was more just unpleasant than anything.

"This... just gonna be a thing there?"
