Furnado Animal Shelter; Monday [10/18].

When Sakaki got back to work after the vacation, she was expecting to discover that a week off did not somehow manage to magically endear all the cats in the shelter to her, and she was expecting to be sharing a lot of stories with the various animals about other various animals she had seen on the trip.

She was not expecting bats.

A part of her wondered if she should have been expecting bats, but she hadn't, and even though they had frightened her a great deal at first, due to being so unexpected and having heard so many stories of bats getting caught in people's hair (and she had a lot of hair!), not to mention vampires and things like that....she....found that they weren't actually so bad! She hated when they swooped together, giving her a startled fright every time, but when they actually settled and she got a closer look at that, she discovered that they were actually surprisingly adorable, and she was very quickly falling in love.

She may have even started sewing together a few bat plushies!

Erm, well. They were supposed to be bat plushies, anyway. They ended up just looking more like bug-eyed blobs with uneven wings. But she was trying!
