The Perk- Monday Morning

The morning run had been nice, and it felt good to finally get back on track with the regular routine. Though, Dwight wouldn't have said no to a few more hours of sleep but beggars couldn't be choosers. After finishing up the morning run to opt for hitting the stairs rather than the beach that morning, he was ready to relax a bit before heading back to the shop to start work.

So there he was, sitting at the Perk, large hot apple cider and a pumpkin muffin. In front of him was a note pad where he was jotting down notes and sketching out some ideas for the project he and Amaya were working on.

Stark had not gone for a run this morning but he tended to wake up early and he did enjoy his excessively sugary coffees so he ended up at the Perk fairly often.

"Hello, Dwight," he said on his way to the counter to order something with a truly excessive amount of whipped cream on top.

Dwight nodded and smiled in return. "Hey Stark. How have you been?"

"Mostly well," Stark said with an answering nod. "The weekend was good. Quiet, aside from the party. Did you enjoy it?"

"I'm honestly not that big of a party person. But it was an enjoyable evening. Though now I have a nice suit and a mask i will have to find some excuse to wear again soon" Dwight said with a chuckle.

"They can be a little overwhelming sometimes. Too many people, I think" Stark said. "I like them more than I did but it took time to get used to it."

"Maybe the mask will work for this weekend?"

[alwaysonguard]

"Good point. Would be a nice change from my typical costume choice (many moons ago when there was last a need to dress up). With a nickname like 'Sasquatch' it was kinda hard to get away with much else back home. What about you? Any idea yet what you are doing?"

"I had a costume last year," Stark said with a small sigh. "It didn't go well. We all... no, not all, most of us, turned into what we were wearing. I lost my mask. For weeks. I don't know if there will be any costumes for me this year."

If a certain someone encouraged costume wearing he might go along with it. Possibly.

[alwaysonguard]

"Could always choose something that has a mask as part of the costume" Dwight offered "Or work your mask into the look so its always there. Not that a costume is needed at all really ... I haven't dressed up for Halloween in a couple years."

"It was part of the costume," Stark said. "A dog took it and then the raccoons had it. It was a very...odd night."

"I don't ever take it off for long if I can help it," he added after a sip of his coffee. "I need it."

[alwaysonguard]

"Ah, well, there's plenty of ways to still enjoy the holiday sprit without having to fully dress up. And who knows, maybe the island will be nice this year and there will be no odd transformation happenings" he said waving his hand around. "Could be possible."

"I wouldn't mind everyone staying themselves for a while," Stark said with a rueful smile. "I really don't like not being myself. But I'm sure there will be something this weekend even if costumes aren't required."
