Since he was already up ungodly early to substitute for a math class, Shunsui actually breezed into the store at a reasonable time that Wednesday, which meant that Apu was instantly suspicious.
It didn't help that, since Shunsui had already taken a lovely nap all throughout most of that movie he showed in lieu of a lesson, he didn't even settled into slumber behind the counter right away.
In fact, the nap during class had been so nice that it would seem Shunsui was a little bit inspired, and thought perhaps he'd use this rare energy and creativity to actually get some work done!
No, no, no. Don't be absurd, not work work! But writing work! It seemed a good opportunity to finally get some progress made on that novel of his, that sequel to The Rose-Colored Path that was now somewhere around a decade in the making.
Once Apu saw how very little writing and how mostly only scribbles and sake seemed to be happening, though, he realized that nothing was wrong after all.
"Hmmmm ♥." Occasionally, too, Shunsui would hum thoughtfully and volley out a question to his esteemed little worker bee. "I really should think of a title for this thing, shouldn't I, Apu-san ♥? What do you think of....The Aubergine-Tinted Road?
"You're right," he then said, nodding and writing something down, despite the fact that Apu had said absolutely nothing and was, in fact, on the other side of the store entirely. "It could use some work, but I'll definitely write it down as a possibility ♥."
