Fix & Clean-Wed Afternoon
The morning had started before the sun had fully risen, once again, for Dwight so by the time the shop was open, he had already been up and going for several hours.
The weather was definitely shifting and he made a mental note to take stock of what winter clothes he had and see what he needed to get still before the really frigid temperatures hit. Chances were it wouldn't be as bad as it was up in Maine most winters, but it still was a good idea to be as prepared as possible.
Sitting at the work bench, a large freshly topped off mug of coffee in hand, Dwight pulled out his phone to send off a quick text to a couple of his clients to give them a status update on their orders and to schedule meet ups and what not.

Which was why she was waltzing into the Fix & Clean with a box and a folder tucked under her arm and a mission in mind after finishing up a few things in her own shop after teaching that math class.
"Well, Dwight," she said, shirking any typical greeting to get right down to business, "I hope yoi've got a gap in your agenda, because I've got for you here some prototypes," she did love her prototypes, "of Dr. Lecter's silverware set so you can make sure the shape and size of 'em'll fit nice and snug in that box of yours, and also, the final sketches on that new counter for the shop, if you're still interested."
As if he wouldn't be. Or as if she'd take her business elsewhere.

"Always got time for ya. Let's see what you got here" he said, as he ducked under the counter for a moment then popped back up with a box of his own, "I've got the first round of the box prototypes ready to go so your timing it perfect! And can't wait to see what you got for those counters and display cases."
Because after all, there was no such thing as being too busy and, whether Dwight would actually admit it to anyone out loud, he enjoyed the little friendly rivalry he and Amaya had going on. It kept him busy but also gave him something to look forward to each week. The work and the company both were some of the highlights of his week... not that he was quite ready to be admitting that out loud- at least not so obviously.
"So!" Dwight said, brushing off his hands and looking at Amaya with a big grin. "Let's see the goods!"

Which, honestly, if there was a dinner thing important enough? She could see it.
"And then, this," she said, with a bit more pride, since this was all her without client interference, she flipped open the folder and held out the designs for him to see and take, "is what I was thinking for the counter. Something with a bit of curve to it--if you think you can handle it!--with a nice little protective alcove here," she pointed out the right side, "for the new computer," which was a big deal! She didn't even have a television set! Then again, a television set wasn't going to help her make more money, now, was it? "And for this side," pointing out the left, "I was thinking...."
And here she flipped to a second page.
"A removable additional cabinet that can display extra or seasonal stock or be moved to give me more space to work with in the off-chance," the very, very, very, very off-chance, "I'm a bit low on stuff to display."

Dwight took the sketches and looked at them a moment before letting out a long whistle.
"Well you sure have a high opinion of my talents" he said with a grin. "I'm honored. And this might take a little time but I can work something up for you. If you want I can start on the portable display case so you have that for anything you want to feature right now while I work on this monster display case." He looked at the sketches again and then back to Amaya. "Have any preference on wood type of final color? I definitely think a stain is better than painting anything to be honest."

She was teasing, of course.
Mostly.
"And what I've got mostly in there now is some cedar and mahogany," she added. "I'm not quite sure this whole Etsy thing has picked up quite enough to call for a splurge on the latter, especially for such a big project, but if you can get me a nice dark stain to fit the rest of the shop nicely on some cedar, I think we'll be in business."

"Hey, Dwight! Recovered from your busy Friday yet?"

"I'm working on a few things for upstairs. Ya' know, now that I've been here nearly 6 months. Figured it's high time I got some decent things for the place. Like a decent bed and some better storage space." Dwight shook his head with a slight grin. "Guess I finally decide I'm here for good so should probably upgrade to something a little better than 'bachelor pad' or 'starving college student' for the decor and what not."

"Yes, the bed is the first on the list. Just got the stuff delivered yesterday for it actually," he said with a chuckle.

Well, maybe not much better. There were reasons he'd moved to Fandom, after all.

He gave a quick shrug. "Also kinda want to stay in the shop as much as I can in case Amaya or anyone else needs anything."
