Chilly Boulder, Sunday Afternoon
It was possibly a bit too cold out to really be proper ice cream weather but Belle had been reading a book with a lovingly described ice cream sundae in it and as a result had been struck with the urge to go get one of her own.
She was a bit surprised to find a child-sized ice cream bar set up along one wall of the ice cream shop, along with a "Make Your Own Small Sundae If You're Small This Sunday" sign but had to admit it did make sense.
"I'm my usual size," she said, regretfully, eyeing the wide variety of toppings.
"You're short," the boy behind the counter said. "Close enough!"
That was how Belle ended up with a dish of ice cream absolutely drowning in toppings in front of her at a table, along with the book she'd been reading that had inspired this outing in the first place.
[open for weetinies or regular sized people in search of ice cream, of course! I will be slow for a little bit while I grocery shop but I'm very much around!]

But oops, he'd gotten a little turned around and instead ended up at the ice cream place.
"Is this for anyone?" he demanded, looking at the sign. Yeah, he might be little, but he could read, wanna make something of it?

It was not a very good business model, but it was very appealing.

random YA romance.no subject
That may be true, but romance was probably still a little out of your wheelhouse there, tiny Halstead.

When he saw the ice cream shop he ran in and his eyes grew wide when he saw the ice cream bar set up.
"I can really put whatever I want on the ice cream?" he asked, no one in particular as he ogled the vast options for toppings.

Of course, there hadn't been many people in here yet. But stopping them from using the toppings seemed unlikely.

Grownup Dwight was going to need at least 2 weeks of extra runs to make up for this empty calorie gorge fest.

"It is rather wonderful," Belle agreed.
She would have to make it a point to come back here soon and actually spend money. Which might, she reflected, be exactly what they were aiming for.

“OOOH ICE CREAM!” he yelled, sorry everyone within earshot, Goose didn’t have much of an indoor voice at this point.

"It seems to be for everyone. I certainly won't stop you!"

Goose got a bowl and helped himself to several different flavours and toppings, he turned to Belle rather sheepishly, “I’m not supposed to have any of this stuff,” he confessed, that part was kind of obvious Goose.

Her own parents had been rather indulgent in such things, though there hadn't been any ice cream in her homeland.

He was pretty sure that other kid hadn’t believed him when he told him, “anything with too much sugar takes a while to process and Commander Walsh doesn’t like it when I have too much but so far I feel fine,” just you know really bouncy and more talkative than what adult Goose would be. Also it would be adult Goose dealing with all the after effects.

"In a lab?" Belle repeated, incredulously. "I didn't know that happened."
Of course, she knew someone who had a robot for a mother so this shouldn't have been too surprising.
