Bartending! Just like old times! Except with zombies, for some reason!

Laszlo hadn't noticed the stage when he'd been in on Tuesday, but today it caught his attention and was filed away for a future use. Perhaps he could track down a keyboard, even!

He was also now accompanied by a camera man and a female boom mic operator who both trailed him around the bar as he got ready for his first shift, but aside from addressing the camera occasionally, Laszlo paid them no attention. This was clearly normal, even if he probably ought to have put more thought into who had known where he'd gone and sent them, along with his case of antique porn.

In any case, Caritas was open, and Laszlo was totally prepared to fetch all your normal human drinks.

Or to make Tino do it, anyway.

Silver didn't often go to the other bar, but sometimes it was nice to switch things up. It was also possible he was worried there was still no booze at the Devil's Nest.

"You don't look familiar."

Oh, but you did, Silver. In a way. In a hot way.

And that accent to boot!

"I should say not," Laszlo agreed, giving Silver a none-too-subtle once-over. "Just arrived on -- Tuesday. Laszlo Cravensworth, at your service."

Was there a pause there because Laszlo was still remembering what day of the week that had been? The only reason he had any kind of a grasp on it was because Kitty had told him he worked Thursday so he'd made sure to know when that was.

If Silver didn't have a job he too would barely have an idea of what day it was.

"John Silver." He was used to people looking at him like that but usually not quite so blatantly. "Nice to meet a fellow bartender. I work at the town's other drinking establishment."

"With Eric!" Look at that amazing recall. It helped that Eric was a vampire and thus, actually worth remembering. "I do need to go visit over there. I hear there are axes."

Laszlo would actually find the piano much more interesting once he knew about it, but the axes sounded entertaining all the same.

"Occasionally." It depended on how Lucifer was feeling. "What brings you here to the island?"

Clearly he wasn't from this country with that accent.

"Oh, you know." Fleeing a vampire in search of rent from a century and a half ago. "Needed a change."

Vague. Good.

"What can I get you to drink?" he added, looking down the bar to get Tino on deck in case it was anything more complicated than an extremely-overfoamed beer.

"Rum, please." That would be kind of hard to mess up, even for a vampire. "I'm not particular about what kind."

"Ah, yes." Rum. Rum, rum, rum. Was it this one -- nope, that was apparently whiskey.

So many of these were brown. Confusing.

"Here you go!" Laszlo finally found a bottle of rum, pouring it with a proud flourish for Silver. "So tell me what a debonair gent like yourself is doing in a podunk little town like this one?"

Silver couldn't help but let out a little laugh at the flourish. And being called debonair. "I ended up here entirely by accident and decided to stay. Podunk little town was what I needed. Though this place is much more exciting than it looks upon first glance."

"Oh?" And up went Laszlo's eyebrow, because that at least seemed promising. (And for their part, the cameraman and microphone operator took more of an interest in Silver, zooming in and angling the microphone at him a little better.) "Don't tell me there's witches here. I already met a magic man and I'm wary despite his handsomeness."

Honesty. Sorry, Eliot.

Silver had become addicted to bad TV in his year and a half here, which meant he was not overly weirded out by cameras around. He was just wondering what channel this was going to be on. Please say this was like a Real Housewives thing, he lived for that shit.

"I believe there are some witches here, yes," Silver said. "I don't think they are dangerous though. Mostly they like to decorate for the holidays."

If Silver played his cards right, he might even be invited to do a talking head!

"Hmph," Laszlo huffed, mildly concerned about these decorating witches. "What about werewolves? I've not smelled any yet but they can be tricky."

Nothing worse than a surprise werewolf.

"...not that I know of," Silver said slowly. "I'm guessing they smell like dogs?"

"Worse," Laszlo assured him with a shudder of revulsion. "You'd know."

Mostly because werewolves seemed incapable of not acting like dogs.

"But if not witches and werewolves, then what sort of excitement should I beware of?" Sexy things, hopefully.

"Well last weekend a bunch of the townspeople turned into children. Literally." Which was about the unsexiest thing ever.

Laszlo absorbed that with a curious, "Huh," tilting his head and finding a toothpick to chew on. "Have they been driven from the town, then?"

As one would naturally do with vermin.

"No, they turned back into adults," Silver said. "Usually that sort of nonsense only lasts the weekend. All of the alcohol disappeared for two days though, which was infuriating."

"No." Laszlo didn't even drink regular human drinks anymore, but even he knew to be horrified. "What a cruel twist on the weekend! Why, to protect the little tykes from getting into it? Is that not the very purpose of shelves?"

"Exactly!" Silver said. "Everything turned into water or, ugh, juice."

Juice helped prevent scurvy, but at what cost?

"This is horrifying," Laszlo said, not kidding at all. "Wait, you weren't one of these cursed children, were you?"

Unclear whether he meant that he thought this was a product of a literal curse or not.

"Absolutely not." As far as he was concerned he had never been a child, ever. "I was one of the people suffering from lack of alcohol. My girlfriend was a child though."

Kind of a depressing one, but that hadn't been her fault.

"My condolences to you both. That must have been very strange," Laszlo said thoughtfully. "I can't even imagine my wife as a child."

She'd probably been very similar to how she was as an adult.

Silver waved a hand. "Really, it's nothing. Like I said, none of it ever lasts long. You can almost time it after a certain point."

"Everyone just...gets better?" Laszlo asked, concerned and curious at the same time. "Why does anyone stay here? It's because this is a veritable mecca for the sexually attractive, isn't it?"

Self included, naturally.

"I mean, I don't know if that's the reason," Silver said, taking a sip of his drink. "...but now that you mention it there is an awfully lot of good looking people here for the size of the island."

Even the Walrus had some ugly dudes to balance out himself, Flint and Billy.

Drink far away from him, sad.
