Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had maybe not moved on from the weekend, but she was probably hiding it pretty well. At least aside from the anxiety that came with having to see someone (that she wasn't dating) who'd seen her then, but she could work all that out against a remote.

...A second remote, because she broke the first one. Maybe it was a bad idea to put all her focus on one that could really make her mad right now. It was a lesson she'd put into practice later.

Was Anakin running a little behind because he was trying to put this off as long as possible?

Yes. Sorry, Rey.

He finally poked his head into the warehouse. "Hello?"

She honestly didn't notice.

"Yeah," she called from where she was working. Don't mind the singed remote parts on the floor.

"There are singed remote parts on the floor."

Anakin was bad at following narrative cues.

"Yeah... it wasn't playing nice so I didn't either," Rey said, actually sounding king of apologetic.

Kind of.

The remote could suck it.

Anakin laughed. "That's fair. We can get more remotes."

Just what Rey wanted, right? More remotes?

"We probably had too many as it is," she tried.

[sith_happened]

"There are never too many remotes," Anakin said erroneously.

Rey raised her eyebrow at him even as she deflected a bolt.

Anakin smiled in what he believed was a winning way. "What?"

[thatwaslucky]

"I'll let you believe that," she said, batting another away.

"I never minded the remotes," Anakin admitted.

Because of his violent streak, really.

"You probably got shot less than me," Rey pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"That's also possible," Anakin said, nodding.

Rey nodded, and fell back into fighting against the remote, really actually glad she could use the excuse that she was really focused and not that there was this elephant in the room.

Well, shared childhood trauma was always quite the conversation killer anyway. Anakin was content to watch and offer the occasional bit of advice as she went.

Mostly Rey just wanted to beat up on the remote. Maybe she was trying to slice it open at this point, who even knew.

But eventually she tired out and she shut down the remote and lightsaber. "How'd I do?"

"There's still a remote left," Anakin teased. "Was that your plan?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Maybe. I didn't really have a plan," she admitted.

Anakin's smile softened. "That's okay too. Work through things. That's what this is for, too."

[thatwaslucky]

"What would I need to work through?" Nothing, obviously, as she was fine.

[sith_happened]

Anakin shrugged. "Have you been a small child in Fandom before?"

[thatwaslucky]

"No," she said. "But it happens to almost everyone."

Therefore it was not a problem for her, right?

Riiiight.

"It does," Anakin agreed. "It doesn't mean I enjoy it when it happens to me."

"It was a week ago. There's no reason to be upset about it now," Rey pointed out. Maybe talking to herself a little.

"The remotes tell a slightly different story," Anakin said.
