Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Since she was usually the only one in here, at least till Anakin arrived, Rey was kind of trying to leave the mistletoe alone. There was no one to be aggressive about, so maybe she could just work in peace for a while, pretending that she wasn't expecting it to yell at her, or dive bomb her head or anything.

She was doing drills, though, specifically because she felt the lightsaber was a warning.

Anakin came in, lightsaber already lit as well. "Stop it," he told the mistletoe. "You already made me kiss that barista this morning."

"It's been quiet so far," Rey said, glancing up at it. "And I'm now glad I haven't had to kiss any baristas today."

"It was awkward for everyone," Anakin said, "and I can't even avoid going back because Rory needs about forty coffees a day."

He was only slightly exaggerating.

"That is easily fixed by making it at home," she pointed out.

She stopped the drill, but the lightsaber was staying on for the moment.

"She likes the fancy ones at the holidays," Anakin said.

"Then either she has to get her own or you're going to have very awkward visits forty times a day," she said.

"Maybe I'll just move."

A very reasonable escalation, Anakin. Truly.

Rey smiled. "I'm sure it's not that bad. You may not be the only person they've had to kiss today."

[sith_happened]

"I'm not sure that makes it better or worse," Anakin admitted after thinking that over.

"Which one woukd your wife prefer?" she teased.

[sith_happened]

"I think if I had to kiss anyone who isn't her, the people who provide coffee would be okay," Anakin said.

Okay, Rey had to laugh at that. "Okay, fair. Actually I should have expected that."

Anakin grinned back. "I'm glad you agree."

[thatwaslucky]

"At least we're getting the most annoying December thing out of the way," she said. "I'm half expecting all the good things to happen this week."

Minus the polar bears. Because the polar bears were the best.

"Like what?" Anakin asked, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

"Um. The rickshaws with lights. There were penguins one year. The fireplaces."

Because her boyfriend was a parrot right now and she had promised a date with that one a year ago and she knew.

"I'm not a huge fire fan," Anakin admitted.

Volcano-related trauma, etc.

"Even when you know it's safe?"

She assumed it was, anyway.

"Is fire ever really safe?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"In some cases, when you're careful with it," she said. "But I'm thinking more of things like cooking."

Things that were necessary. Not like, lava.

Lava had been part of his ~aesthetic~, Rey. Outside of his castle of extreme moping.

"So marshmallows?"

Anakin had never cooked anything that was actually food over a fire. Blame his wife.

"Or a stove," she said. "Or a fire pit..."

[sith_happened]

"We do a lot of takeout?" Anakin said apologetically. "We're both absolutely terrible cooks."

"We do more takeout than we should, too." Rey thought that because she was cheap as hell. "When we don't do that, I do the cooking."

Since Silver was... not culinarily inclined.

"What do you like to cook?"

Anakin liked microwave popcorn.
