Blackstone Foundy and Forge; Friday, 12/17.
Well, Wednesday night's drinking has sort of set Amaya back a little bit on her current projects; she was in absolutely no state to be hammering away at anything, loudly or otherwise, after three rounds of jello shots and an ale somewhere in there at some point, too, but that was no matter! That just meant, today, she'd have to be particular focused on getting some solid work done, especially now that she was planning on getting some of the finer, spikier details on that axe for Margo out that day. And who didn't love a good spikes day?
So the forge was stoked, her hammer was ready, and it was time to really get in some good progress...
...before, she assumed, whatever holiday nonsense was lurking about this time to muck everything up. But, really, when she went to open the door and pull back the shutters on the windows, it looked like just a lot of wet, sticky sort of snow that, if it kept up, she might have to see how the Crumbler could handle, although even she was thinking, looking at its consistency, that that would be a big mistake...
Marshamllows in your gears was the worst.
The Forge is open!
[[ and the thread with Dwight should be considered chronologically last, s'il vous plaît! ]]

As he made his way around to the forge, Dwight became more and more thankful that he had invested in a good pair of muck-boots. Looking down at the ridiculously sticky mess on his boots, he hung back at the edge of the forge and called out to Amaya when there was a brief pause in her hammering.
"So, is marshmallow snow a usual holiday treat around here, or are we just being given a special treat?" he asked somewhat sarcastically once he had her attention.

"Still," the axe settled across her shoulder with a grin, "good to see someone willing to brave the trek to stop by. What can we do you for?"

"Just brining an update on that little project of ours" he said as he flipped through the phone to find the few photos he had snapped before heading out that morning. "Did some work on it early this morning and figured you may want to see the progress so far. Though, I do have to be honest, it looks a lot better in person..." he said with a nod as he handed the phone over to Amaya.

"I take it," she mused, stopping on a few shots and zooming in, but knowing he was right, the details on a photo weren't going to hold a candle to seeing it with her own two eyeballs, "you're working on the display cases over in your shop? They shouldn't be hard to bring over, but I imagine a full counter will be a bit of task, especially if we get more weather like this. Whenever you're ready, just say the word, we'll clear out whatever space you need and you can just get to work here. I'm sure this place'll be big enough for the both of us."
Said with a confidence and assurance that flew in full defiance of any awkward thoughts she might have had in regards to the last time she'd shared her workspace, of course....

He paused a moment and took a glance around the forge and shop, acting as if he really needed to take stock of the space to see if it would accommodate both their needs.
"As for the bigger cases, we can start on those whenever you would like. I can start moving things over and getting a space set up to work someplace where I'm out of your hair" he added with a grin.
Spoken like a man who truly didn't realize just how much sawdust and shavings one could make when working on a big project and just how it can end up everywhere when all is said and done.

She handed the phone back with a nod. "Looks like a good start from this vantage point, but I suppose I'd have to see 'em in person to get the full effect."

He took the phone back and then looked at Amaya, taking a slow, silent breath and pushing back at apprehension or annoying confusion that might have been trying to creep into his mind at that moment.
"I still have the case set out at the shop where I left it after taking those photos. I know you got a couple projects of your own going on" he added with a nod towards the anvil and forge. "But you're welcome to come over and take a look yourself and let me know what you think of it all so far. Need to know what kind of engraving work, if any, you want on it anyways."

Still....she had made an awful lot of progress on it that morning. And Seivarden was always getting on her case about needing to take a break every once in a while...
"I should go have a look," she reasoned, almost as much to herself as to Dwight. "I'm sure you're eager to get them all finished up..."
There was just still one thing kind of sticking, though.
"Seems kind of a shame, though," she noted, "if you came out all this way in this just to turn right back around again..."
Which did beg the question, didn't it, of just why he bothered coming out all this way just to show her pictures he could have just texted her...

Dwight fell silent for a moment before giving a resigned shrug, realizing it was kinda silly and he had probably only wasted his and Amaya's time this morning.
"There's no rush of course. Cases will be there waiting for you anytime" he said with a slight smile.

Couldn't have something like him just dropping in mostly just to see her or anything. That would be...
"I have been a little curious," she said, because they couldn't have something like her just going over without additional explanation either, "how the Crumbler might fare with the marshmallow snow and all. Not the big one, just the Squirrel one, to test it out. We could bring it along, see how far it gets. Maybe it might even make it all the way over to your shop!"
Only one way to find out! And, well, while they were there...

"Testing out the crumbler sounds like a good way to make use oft he trip" Dwight agreed. It also made a wonderful excuse for them going back to the shop that was actually removed from himself or anything involving himself. "I bet it will do amazingly well, too."

For Crumbler experiments and case observations and nothing else.

She was just eager to get the axe she'd ordered, for reasons.
"Hey," she called, strolling into the forge early in the afternoon. "How are things going with my axe?"

"Margo!" Amaya greeted, as she looked up from where she'd been working on none other than the very axe in question, which worked well to have her heft it up proudly with a grin. "Coming along nicely, if I do say so myself! I'd say I should have it finished up by next week, before New Years at the latest."
Even if her progress on the thing was just about to be frustratingly stagnant these next few days!

"Can I see it?" Margo asked, arms crossed. "I gotta know."

But Amaya could sympathize with the sentiment.
"Absolutely," she said, with a grin, as she easily shifted her grip on the axe so that she was holding it out for Margo to take by the grip. "This is actually a great spot in the process for you to test it pit a little, will help me to see if there needs to be any major adjustments in the weight or balance before I start getting into the refining details."

’Cause again: total (if enthusiastic) axe noob.
She reached out to take the weapon. Gingerly. “Shit, I feel like I could kill somebody with this.”
