The Photo Hut - Friday (...?)
Liz wasn’t even sure why she had bothered to come into work today, she ran the business after all … she could take time off until whatever this was had stopped happening. She had decided to come down anyway and had ended up bringing Rain down for company and comfort.
She had woken up in her bedroom instead of a cell and that meant everything had reset … Travis would still be alive … she hadn’t caused that fire … she wasn’t arrested.
Only everything had happened .. she remembered everything, screaming at Stark and Travis to run … all that fire.
If she stayed holed up in her apartment she could just hide until it ended and then decide if maybe she was going to have to leave Fandom after this since it was now on the radio about her arrest … about what she’d done. People were going to know …they were always going to know …there was no point in hiding something like that now.
Were the cops going to realise she wasn’t in her cell … did that make her a wanted fugitive? Should she turn herself in before they showed up to arrest her? She had told Liam everything about her powers … would he want her to be roaming around Fandom, especially since she had been a sobbing wreck and broken down in that cell … not exactly reassuring that she was stable and in control especially with her police file … that something like this could happen again and it could be permanent … was he going to trust her being free?
Then speaking of her not being stable … Gladio? What was he going to think … he thought she was a basket case already after she broke down in front of him after she had told Prompto everything. Was he going to tell Prompto not to see her anymore because she was too dangerous? They were friends after all if he was concerned … not that she blamed him for thinking that. She didn’t exactly have a proven track record with this and any chance that she might have been able to redeem herself … well she’d pretty much ruined that now.
It was supposed to be Sunday today … she didn’t even open up on the weekend but she needed something to distract herself, from the horrors of what she had done yesterday,. She could still see Travis catching fire everytime she close her eyes…the fire that she had caused … that ultimately killed him.
She let out a sob, trembling as she held Rain close to her, she stood behind the counter, not even sure what she was doing or why she was even trying to pretend that everything was going to be fine. She kept an eye on the door, half expecting someone to show up to arrest her again.
[so very open especially if you want to check in on an angsty and traumatised pyrokinetic]

And it was at that moment in his train of thought that he realized he'd been so distrated by everything that had been going on that he never did get around to checking in on Liz, and he let out an audible groan and quickly changed his plans, all the while realizing that this was the sort of thing that probably made Yang so eager to dump his ass the first chance she got, and, hey, maybe if he was really lucky, Liz was actually on loop like Gladio and Ignis and therefor wouldn't remember at all how terrible of a maybe-boyfriend he'd been this whole time.
He was a little surprised to see that the shop was open and Liz was inside when he got there, though, since he knew she didn't open on the weekend, but if she thought it was Friday, then that would be different, right? So maybe she was looped, and, anyway, he walked in and started with a "Hey, Liz--" but then cut himself off with a blink the moment he saw her.
"Ohmygod, Liz!" He started to hurry toward her, arms ready, but then he stopped, partially because of the counter, but mostly out of a sudden doubt that she would want him there right now, so he just sort of looked at her with wide-eyed concern. "What....what's wrong? What's the matter?"
[[ extreeeeme SP likely, but, I meaaaan......]]

So much for being stable right now.
Sorry Prompto.
[no worries!]

"Ohgod, noooo." The words were wrangled out of him with a note of desperation, as the exact opposite of what he was trying to prevent happened, and, before he knew it, he was hopping over the counter to be next to her. But there he stopped again, fighting back a twitch to just pull her into a hug. He'd already just made things so much worse by just being there, he wasn't about to add to it by hugging her or something!
So his hands just sort of hovered with uncertain awkwardness at his own sides as he tried to be reassuring in other ways.
"Hey, no, it's...it's okay. It's okay! What...what happened? Do....do you need to talk about it? Is there....what do you need? Should I go? Maybe I should just go..."
His feet weren't planning on moving from this spot any time soon, though.

She sniffed, trying to process her thoughts, “I screwed everything up,” she finally got out, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Hey," he said, even softer now, as he chanced to lift his hand to brush away some of those tears before giving in entirely and pulling her into a hug. "It's okay. It's fine. Whatever it was, there's a good chance it's just going to go back to how it was yesterday! And, if not, well, then....it's still fine, we'll figure it out, okay? We'll figure...something out."

Someone really needed to listen to radio more during a crisis.
"What happened, Liz?"

“Yesterday…” she managed to get out, looking up at him, her eyes glassy and tear stained, “I …there were gunshots … I think … I had … it happened so fast,” Liz had no idea what she was saying right now, it was all coming out in a massive ramble, “I …was at the fire station … “ she sobbed, “Stark..Travis, Travis caught fire” she had to take a deep breath, “I …” she shivered again at the memory. “The troopers took me to the station,”
“It was on the radio,” then she broke down again.

As it was, this was....a lot of information, and it didn't help that Liz was understandable upset, and he way out of his element here, and maybe, if he hadn't been so caught in his own shit, could he have been there for her? So this hadn't have happened?
Not know what to say or do, he just hugged her again, good and tight, before he managed to get out, at least, "Liz...it's okay. It's going to be okay..."
He hoped. Would it?
Man, but if it was going to happen....at least it happened now....

It was like she had read his narrative.

Probably badly, but the way she answered would help him start.

“I…” she stopped and then started again, “not very well,” she finally admitted, then let out another sob.

None of this was making any sense to her, she couldn’t think straight.
