Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Shopping had been yesterday and this party was tonight and that meant that while Rey was definitely training today, it was different than normal.

That's right, she was wearing tall boots and trying to walk in a straight line in heels. There was a lot of almost tipping over and one barely saved ankle roll but she was preserving dammit.

"Do I even want to ask?" Anakin said, poking his head into the warehouse and grinning.

"Is there a Force technique for this?" Rey asked immediately, teetering.

So he might have to ask.

[sith_happened]

"For what?" he asked, laughing. "Being tall?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Walking in these things," she said. "Annie said boots. Boots are good. These are not good!"

[sith_happened]

"They do look a little tippy," Anakin vastly understated.

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't know how I'm getting through the night," Rey admitted. And her feet hadn't even started to hurt yet! That would come after several hours of standing. Not to mention what her calves were going to feel like. "This shouldn't be hard, I used to run on sand."

Anakin, who'd been tall his entire life, looked entirely stymied by this problem. "I can call Jaina?"

"Does she know a Force technique for this?"

She hoped. She hoped so hard.

[sith_happened]

"I have no idea," Anakin admitted, "but it's worth asking."

[thatwaslucky]

"Okay," Rey said, pulling a crate over to her with the Force in case she needed to sit suddenly.

She was still going to try to master these damn things until then though.

Anakin pulled out his comlink. "I hope she isn't busy," he said, pressing Jaina's information.

[solo_sword]

She was, which was why you'd hear the sound of shrieking kids in the background.

Those shrieking kids were also why she was picking up immediately.

"Solo."

[sith_happened]

"Skywalker," Anakin replied teasingly. "How are you?"

[solo_sword]

"Been a long day," Jaina said. "It's all happy screaming you hear, I swear. How are you?"

[sith_happened]

"I don't miss the happy screaming stage," Anakin admitted. "Rey has a new pair of shoes and she's having a bit of trouble navigating with them. She was wondering if you know how to stand in heels?"

[solo_sword]

Jaina paused, a smile spreading over her face. "I'm sorry, can you repeat that?"

[sith_happened]

Anakin sighed heavily. "Do I have to?"

[solo_sword]

"You're asking for my help in walking in heels."

You had no idea how happy this made her.

[sith_happened]

"For Rey," Anakin said like that made it any better.

[solo_sword]

"That really just makes this all cuter," Jaina told him.

[sith_happened]

"Just what I was going for," Anakin said dryly.

[solo_sword]

"I speak the truth and you know it." Rey was basically that timeline's Tahiri and Jaina knew it. "My secret is heels that break away if you need to run. Aunt Mara got me started on them. If they get too uncomfortable, I snap them off."

That was not helpful at the moment, Jaina.

[sith_happened]

"They make shoes with break off heels?" he repeated mostly for Rey's benefit.

[solo_sword]

"They do here, if you know where to find them," Jaina said. "For the regular kind, you basically just put your weight on the balls of your feet. It stops the wobbling."

[sith_happened]

"Thanks," Anakin said. "She's basically on stilts."

Rey was not close to being on stilts.
