New year, new habits?

Nope, Miguel came into work and beelined for the coffee.

At least he didn't seem as fragile as half the staff.

"That's what you get for drinking too much last night," he said with the confidence of someone with a healing factor.

The cook glared at him.

It was a bit later than usual for him when he did visit the diner, but Dwight walked in, and made his way to the counter and sat down, looking a little disheveled as he winced slightly at the florescent lights in the place.

"Ya know, it really isn't fair that you don't have to suffer from the side effects like the rest of us after these big parties and events," he said with a mock glare as he scanned the menu for a moment, pretty much already knowing what he was going to order though.

Miguel smirked. "Hey, might as well be some perks to this." He poured a cup of coffee and set it down in front of Dwight. "Did you have fun at least?"

"Yeah it was a good night, surprisingly" Dwight said as he nodded in thanks and took a drink. "Actually kinda glad I went, considering how seriously had been thinking about not going and just chilling in the apartment. It was a good way to end the year. Even if..." Dwight hesitated a moment. "Even if there was no kiss in the end."

"Aw, damn." Miguel gave him an exaggerated sigh. "Sorry to hear it." He grabbed Dwight's head and pulled it forward to smooch him on the forehead. "There you go. Happy new year."

It took a moment or two for Dwight's brain to process that, but soon as it did he gave Miguel a smirk. "Awwww thanks, Miguel" he said with a playful tone as he blew a kiss back at him. "Happy New Year."

And after a minute or two of chuckling about how cleaver absolutely ridiculous they both were Dwight shook his head.

"So..... on that note. I think I need some food."

"Breakfast or lunch today?" Miguel asked.

[alwaysonguard]

"Oh let's go with the full Special's Board today" Dwight with a nod. "And maybe a running tab on the coffee refills?" Cuz he had a feeling he was gonna need several to get through this hangover.

"Full New Year's good luck run and plenty of coffee, got it." Miguel put the order in. "So, any big plans for the new year?"

[alwaysonguard]

"More of the usual, projects, projects, and more projects. I'm teaching this semester though that could be quite the comedy of errors" Dwight said with a laugh. "Though I will have Gladio helping out here and there, so at least I have him to fall back on if things really start to unravel."

Dwight took a big guzzle of the coffee before turning the question back on Miguel. "What about you and Rosa? Any big plans or resolutions for the new year?"

"Nah, nothing really," Miguel said, shrugging. "I'm not teaching again yet, so I'll just be here. She's got the agency. It works."

[alwaysonguard]

"Yeah no point fixing something if it isn't broken" Dwight agreed. "Though I still think the image of you teaching is quite amusing. Sure it's all been science and techy subjects right?"

[what_the_shock]

"Eh." Miguel see-sawed his hand. "More or less. I mean, I try to teach science, but it is Fandom."

[alwaysonguard]

"Yeah, I know how that can be..." Dwight said with a slightly apologetic nod. "We had a guy back home who was kinda like you. A very sciencey type. Which is very hard to be when you live in place like Haven."

"Oh, I don't even mean the weird physics," Miguel said. "One semester I ended up teaching 'Mad Science'."

"Ah yeah... can see the ummm "Fandom" touch there for sure" Dwight said shaking his head. "Though THAT is the kind of class that would have at least kept me awake during it" he pointed out with a grin.
