Fix and Clean- Wednesday

Dwight had been keeping himself busy the last week or so. And that was the way he liked it. The whole Christmas shenanigans, what with the mistletoe and all that, and then the time loop nonsense and what that all involved, Dwight had pretty much just put his head down and pushed through that list of to-do projects.

His main focus was on the display cases he had been working on for Amaya. With the two initial cases finished and set aside for her final approval, Dwight had started working on getting everything organized for that massive counter that was the next item on the list. He would need to bring everything to the forge itself and construct everything on site for something this big, so there was a good bit of planning and logistical details to figure out.

So, there he was, busy organizing piles of wood and gathering up the tools and everything he would need, suddenly realizing it would be an endeavor all on its own to get everything over to the forge.

“Gonna be quite the undertaking here… but will be worth it in the end right boy?” he asked, glancing over to the pup who was evidently sound asleep in his bed in the corner of the shop. Dwight smiled and shook his head and went back to sorting and organizing things.

[Expecting one but can be open to anyone who needs Dwight :) ]

Someone was long, long overdue for getting around to seeing a few cases in person rather than the same photos a few times on a phone, so, once her class and a few other errands here and there were finished, Amaya headed on over to Dwight's, especially since she also wanted to guage his thoughts on something that would also work for as good a greeting as any.

"Dwight," she said, as she came in and, as a woman of action, didn't mince words to get straight to the point, "I'm going to throw out two words, and I want you to give me your knee-jerk gut-reaction to 'em, right off the cuff, alright? Are you ready?"

If he wasn't ready by the time the short pause she was giving him had passed, she was going to go on ahead and say them anyway.

"Shovel launcher."

And then she looked over at him with excited expectation.

To that, Amaya could only grin back at Dwight, shrug her shoulders, and counter his question with an even better one of her own:

"Why not?"

"That is the main reason I came on out here," Amaya admitted, already starting to head over that way. "I just figured, while I was here, I'd shop the idea around. It's still pretty fresh, Diaz and me just started shooting the idea around a bit only yesterday."

"Well," Amaya pointed out, "that's what I have the Crumbler for."

So crisis averted.

Right?

"Although..." Perhaps not, as her head tilted and her hand met her own chin with thoughtful consideration, "there's a good chance that what the Crumbler's shoveling capabilities is missing is also a launch feature!"

Clearly, this was exactly what the Crumber was missing and grinned eagerly, almost gratefully, toward Dwight for his fantastically helpful input. "Hopefully, I'll be able to get something working on that before all this snow heads on out, because it'd be a shame to have to wait nearly a whole year to give it a proper run!"

"Oooohh," said Amaya, with a reaction she felt was appropriate to the dramatic reveal there and moved in for an even closer...make that very much closer...inspection. "Not surprising at all, but those pictures really didn't do them justice."

"Tempered is good," said Amaya, who, if she did in fact wind up testing that, would do so only incidentally. "It can get mighty hot in that forge when I really get working, but, honestly, Dwight, if this is just a preview of what the whole thing's gonna look like by the time you're done with it..." She whistled, shaking her head. "Might have to touch up a bit of the other woodwork around the shop so it doesn't just look shabby by comparison."

Was it coffee time? It was definitely coffee time. "Morning."

Miguel got coffee and waved the mug at the pile of wood. "Is that coming or going?"

Miguel nodded. "Need help moving it?"

You were a friend, Dwight. No way was he making you try to fit all this crap in your arms or a rickshaw.

"Second?" Miguel gave Dwight a dry look. "You do remember I could wrap the whole thing in web and carry it over there all at once on my own?"

"It's no more trouble than carrying one piece," Miguel pointed out. "Well," he amended, "maybe slightly, just for the time to get the webbing on right."

"I've been informed pizza and beer is traditional for movers," Miguel said. He finished his coffee and waved at the pile. "Is this all of it?"

"Oh, so not right now." Miguel poured himself another cup of coffee. "Fair enough, just let me know when."
