Turtle & Canary; Monday [01/10].
Summer usually had plenty to do around the store when she came in on Monday, so she couldn't help giving Apu a slightly disparaging look when he plopped down a very considerable document full of proposals and ideas on how to make things more energy-efficient around the store.
"Since when did you become so energy-conscious, anyway?" she asked, frowning a little as she leafed through the presentation, trying to decide whether or not to mention that the amount of resources alone it took to print all this out (and in full color, no less!)...
Of course, a few moments later, Summer would know that the answer to the real question here was not going to be found from Apu himself, but, rather, instead, from a quick google search.
Shaking her head, she decided to mostly ignore Apu's proposal in lieu of her usual tasks, although, really, it wouldn't hurt to think about adding a few more solar panels to the roof this year.

handwavelydone already and the next not till the evening, he was still exploring the island a bit more. He soon found himself attending outside T&C again and headed in, giving Summer a wave as he did.
"Hey Summer!" he said walking in. "Didn't think I would see you here too! You have a job outside teaching?"
Forgive the boy, it was only his second week on the island and the poor dear operated still on the concept of teachers only being teachers for the most part.

"Well, I mean, in this economy..."
Said the woman with the super-loaded rich boyfriend living on the island with the most absurdly low cost-of-living in quite possibly the entire multiverse....
She leaned on the counter a little, though, as if to signal that Kurt better buckle in, as she listed them off on her fingers.
"I also sling drinks on Wednesday, have a jello catering business, own a bar in a different dimension, and on-call for at least two different rebellion factions in space..."
And to think, she had once been regarded as an apathetic teen who cared about nothing bit partying and her phone. Amazing what could happen when you were able to break out of the restraints of a tight character box placed upon you for the context of a show that seemed intent on keeping you perpetually contained into a bullshit stereotype to better service a plot!
"Oh," she added, a beat later, "I'm also temporary acting manager at Groovy Tunes while the person who usually runs it goes traipsing after a sentient spaceship that her co-lieutenant is in love with."
Lest she forget.

"I can barely keep up with my classes usually" he admitted with a chuckle.

"Seriously, though?" she then asked. "Even here? There's hardly enough classes to lose track of here..."

No, Summer, it wasn't. It was, however, the exact number of class that seemed to have a particular detail in common.
(Okay, not quite, that was more like seven and a half, really, if we're being honest here).

Kurt paused for a moment before continuing.
"I mean... he might be right but still... eight classes is a bit much!"
no subject
"You'll be fine," she assured Kurt with a dismissive wave of her hand, "eight classes to totally managable and not at all ridiculous and mildly psychotic."
Ahem.
"Anywaaaay," she shifted brightly, "what brings you in today? Looking for anything in particular?"

"I can still check the database and see what I come up with," she said. "It can't be that hard to track down a dimension or planet with more than enough people with hands like that and a climate to necessitate a market for that kind of thing."

Among many things.
Then she looked a little conciliatory as she added, by way of explanation, "My grampa has this whole 'mad scientist' thing going on, so it was a whole deal before I even started coming here."

Sure, sure, sure, he was probably a huge dork and therefor the actual return on this validation anywhere else was probably significantly diminished, but still! She'll take it! Especially after definitely losing cool points with, you know, being kind of a genocidal monster in the eyes of other teenagers on this island right now...
So she grinned a litlte, considered a little false modesty, and then promptly decided...naaaaah.
"It is pretty sweet," she admitted. "We'll probably do a little dimension-hopping for class, actually, but we'll do that through Portalocity. Not that I don't 100% trust my boyfriend's--->he made my portal gun, actually--work, but...portals can get tricky. If something goes wrong, I'd rather have that on their hands than my own, y'know?"

...for about two seconds...
...before just grinning at Kurt and shrugging her shoulders.
"Usually. Sure. Why not?"
