Another week, another mural. Rosa was rapidly filling the store with vibrant color, and as she settled in by the guitar display, she decided to work on something that required a bit more time and thought, a full, proper mural instead of the graffiti styled work she'd done so far.
A landscape, bold and sprawling, layers of brightly colored hills and buttes, dotted with animal and plant life. They were hard to spot at first, blending into the environment the way they did, but if you looked closely you'd realize they were everywhere. Coyotes, horny toads, cacti and sage brush, and birds and birds and birds.
She'd always kind of envied birds.
As always, the music was loud enough to drown out most any other noise. But if you listened closely, you might hear Rosa singing along.
One for sorrow
two for joy
three for girls and four for boys. . . .
