Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [01/26].
Apu was apparently really stepping up his game for National Green Juice Day, because when Shunsui eventually fluttered his way in for the purposes of performative employment, he'd had a whole station set up, featuring plenty of the fresh produce on hand, as well as a good opportunity to show off various different juicers they had for sale that maybe might convince someone to pick them up for themselves. In a way, Shunsui was sort of impressed, even if the whole enterprise sounded exhausting and he was glad Apu had it handled with absolutely no intention of involving him at all.
"I feel...slightly more confident in this than those potions from the other week ♥," he noted, but you can bet he was definitely trying to sneak a few splashes from his sake jug into the blenders when Apu wasn't looking. Just to make things a bit more interesting.
And he was far sneakier than people usually gave him credit for.

Because, sorry, she really liked fresh produce (for what may have been obvious reasons). And that made the green juice station worth inspecting, immediately.

Shunsui's poor heart might be terribly broken if he wasn't just slightly more intrigued to see exactly how well Apu's sales pitch would go over with Octavia, as the man was incredibly eager to get launching into the benefits of a nice, healthy green juice, blended up by none other than one of the very fine juicing products available at an exceptional price in this very store! In fact, Shunsui was just going to go ahead and pour himself a small bit of sake as he got comfortable leaning into his vantage spot at the counter to find out.

... In that once she knew what a thing was and whether she had use for it, she made her decision based on that. Which meant there was rather an abrupt end to Apu's spiel - and then Octavia lugging one of the juicers up to the counter.
"Hey."

Shunsui ducked his head, tilting his hat, in response to the greeting before asking, "Here to celebrate National Green Juice Day with us here at Turtle & Canary, then, Octavia-chan ♥? If I'd have known you were a fan, I would have celebrated it sooner ♥."
Because that was how these made-up holidays worked anyway, wasn't it?

Sorry, Shunsui, you were talking to one of your most literal customers.
(Even if she was wondering - as she did most times, honestly - whether this Day wasn't another made-up one.)

He tilted back what remained in his cup from a moment ago and set it on the counter, then followed it with another new cup, and then reached under the counter for a particular jug.
"As much as I would never want to be the one to delay any sort of celebration, you're not in so much a rush to get started on your new juicing adventure that you can't spare a few moments for a drink," which he was, unsurprisingly, already pouring, "are you ♥?"

No, they were actually just going to marvel at her buying something she didn't absolutely need, probably.
"I'm not in a hurry."

And by then, of course, the two little cups of water were poured, but since he'd been using his own for sake, he only plucked up the new one, shifted his hand so that it was cradled in his fingers, and offered it out to her.
"'Not in a hurry'," he added, "is exactly what I like to hear ♥."

She snorted softly. "Glad to not disappoint," she said. Pretty lightly, by her standards. "But I don't tend to rush out of here when I manage to drop by, do I?"

"Have you any new and exciting hobbies to tell me about, though ♥?" he asked, conversationally, as he filled his cup again. "What have you been up to these days, my dear ♥?"
no subject
That hadn't really been the question, no. And it seemed like mostly an automatic thing to say, because Octavia's lips were tugging further into a smile.
"We were in Norway for... I don't know, most of last month? And I haven't been doing much since we got back. Just... most of my usual things."
She'd just been happier, doing them, than she had for most of the past year and change. And it kind of showed.

"And Norway, mmm ♥? How was that? Besides cold, I assume...♥."

Which had actually taken her a little bit of getting used to. She was a boat person now, through and through.
(Also castles could kind of remind her of the tower in Polis.)
"It was really nice."
no subject
"Cold and snow isn't so bad at all," he mused, "when in the company of other warm...personalities ♥.
"I'm glad you had a good time, Octavia-chan."

And she looked it. There was a softness about her that wasn't always there, hadn't been there a lot since she'd returned older and more jaded from her world.
"Anyway," she continued, with a wry little shake of her head, as if she felt like she'd been caught being ridiculous, "how have you been?"
