Furnado Animal Shelter; Monday [01/31].
Even though it was very clear that a lot of work had gone into it and there was an almost endless potential for cuteness inherant in it, Sakaki really wasn't sure she could feel confident about Sidon's new cat habitat that seemed to sprawl over the entire shelter and, more importantly, overhead to new heights. The idea of the cats getting the drop on her from above was a new level of paranoia to include into her already trecherous work days that she did not know how to feel about.
Thankfully, none of them seemed particularly out for blood today, which meant that she could focus on her training assignments from the vet and her photography assignment for class in relative peace. She didn't have an issue with most of the different kinds of shots, but when she considered how to get a good bird's-eye-view shot and wound up climbing on the counter for more height, she instantly regretted it and those pictures probably weren't going to turn out too well with how her hands were shaking.
She then wondered, once she'd climbed back down and recovered thanks to being back on solid, low ground again, if it would be cheating if she just asked Sidon to take a few birds-eye pictures for her...

Furnado is open!

"Hey Sakaki" Kurt greeted with a smile as he entered, his own camera hanging around his neck.

It was so much, it left her veritablely trembling.
So she blinked out of the cute haze when she heard him come in and it took a few moments to process anything beyond it.
"Oh," she said, "Kurt. G-good morning." She remembered what they'd talked about and smiled faintly. "Ready for some good animal pictures?"

Kurt paused for a moment as he looked around and his eyes went a little big. There were so many animals, and that was mostly just the cats and dogs he could see right off hand. And Sakaki had been right, they were very cute indeed.

"Is there anywhere you wanted to start?" asked Sakaki, going to grab her camera as well. "I've mostly been getting the cats so far."
Because 'cat photographer' was a much easier, albeit far more dangerous, potential career choice!

and his munboth absolutely adored the prickly critters.

"That is a good choice," she added, then started to walk over toward where they were kept in their interconnected habitat of cages. "We have about half a dozen of them right now." She leaned forward to peer through the main cage, and smiled to see one already ambling up out of where he was nestled in the soft bedding to curiously see what was going on. "Look! There's one now! That looks like Biscuit."

"Oh Biscuit is adorable!" Kurt said, breaking into a big grin as he crouched down and lifted his camera to start snapping some photos. There was at least a few particularly cute ones where Biscuit and a few of the other braver hedgehogs had their tiny noses right up to the camera.

Clearly, this was all information Kurt needed to know. That, and Sakaki didn't really have many opportunities to tell people all the names she'd given the animals, so she was taking advantage of it while she could.

And she had the battle wounds to prove it.

"Do these guys end up here a lot? I mean, are a lot of these guys here for a long time?"
It WAS a small island and all.

"It'd be impossible not to," she said, quietly, and maybe even seemed to have forgotten Kurt was even there all. She could very well be content to just stand there, admiring the hedgehogs all day long...
