Rey's warehouse- Wednesday morning

Well. The one good thing about trying to train with a hangover was that Rey was managing to teach herself some things about drawing on the Force to focus, or at least to not feel like she was going to throw up if she tried doing anything physical. She could have stayed home or at least taken it easy this morning, but she wasn't lying when she said it felt weird at her apartment now. She had a portal home in a few hours, but she didn't want to wait around there, and even brought her little packed bag so she could just leave from the warehouse.

And there wasn't really much to do in the warehouse besides train, so she was making her way up the wall, slower than usual, and thinking it might be a good idea to see if there were still some of those snacks Juliet had hidden in the storage lockers.

Anakin had been listening to the radio, so he had a feeling he knew where to find Rey. Armed with ice cream, potato chips, and copies of women's magazines ("for throwing", Rory had explained), he came into the warehouse. "Rey?"

"Yeah," Rey called from somewhere up the wall.

Which she then dropped down from carefully because it felt like a good excuse to not be torturing herself like that.

"I have crunchy, greasy things, and also ice cream," Anakin said. "Rory sent them. Says it's traditional?"

"Thank you," she said, smiling a little even though that drop had her head pounding again. "And thank Rory for me. I didn't know there was a tradition."

Aside from sangria nights, which was a Summer thing that should be nationally traditional, really.

"She also says she thinks the part where you throw darts at the ex's photo is something that only Paris did," Anakin added. "That was her college roommate who was--" terrifying, "--terrifying."

She looked faintly amused by that, but assured him, "There's no need for that. It was as good a breakup as it could be."

"I'm still sorry," Anakin said. "I liked Silver."

The smile turned sadder. "Me too. It's just going to feel terrible for a while."

She'd been through worse, she knew, it just felt like the worst while she was in it.

Anakin nodded sympathetically.

His non-Rory relationship had ended in attempted murder and death so he was just...not going to offer advice.

"Need a hug?" he offered.

"Yes," she said immediately.

Anakin immediately hugged her tightly. "It stinks and I'm sorry," he said earnestly.

"Thanks," she said, hugging him back tightly. "I'm okay, mostly."

Mostly. She was dealing well.

Hangover aside, but anyone who judged her for that sucked.

"And in the moments you're not, that's okay, too. Jedi need to know what they're feeling."

Just ask the all-time champion in the Jedi Emotional Repression Hall of Fame.

"Yeah," she said, pulling back. "I got kind of bitter last night, even though I don't actually feel bitter."

"You did last night," Anakin said quietly. "Better than to let it fester."

[thatwaslucky]

"It was bitterness at the next person who moves in across the hall," she admitted.

So... very misplaced. Get you an ex where you can be mad at a future neighbor for not being good enough.

"Maybe it'll be someone with a cute dog," Anakin offered.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm a little worried I'd still be biased," she said. "I went to Summer's last night. Did a lot of venting."

"That's very good," Anakin said, nodding. "And now working in here."

"I've been here most of the last few days," Rey admitted.

Anakin smiled. "Would you want to spar, then?"

[thatwaslucky]

Rey paused, taking stock of how she was feeling right now.

"I don't know that I can keep up with you today."

Anakin chuckled. "Too much last night?"

[thatwaslucky]

"I seem to have found a way to use the Force to cut through some of what's happening to my head right now," Rey said. "I can use it to climb a wall, but fighting you would end badly."

Good girl, knowing her limits and how much she didn't want to be sick here.

"Next week, then," Anakin offered, still smiling.
