Around Fandom- Thursday Afternoon

It was still cold, but the promise of a nice school trip to warmer climates was motivation enough to get out and take care of some last minute things. With packing done and things wrapped up enough for the time being at the shop, Dwight only had a few more things to check of the pre-trip to-do-list.

One of the most important was making sure Snoopy was set up for his stay at Furnados while he was gone. And while he knew the pup would be well cared for and far from bored or lonely, Dwight still felt a little guilty about leaving him, seeing how it was the first time he had really been away that long since he got the adorable furball.

And so, if anyone saw Dwight that day making his way around town, there was going to be a highly energetic pup running around beside him, jumping into snowdrifts, and sliding on the icy patches as they went.

And just as Snoopy was sliding on an icy patch, there came a superhero to the rescue.

"Whoops!" Miguel laughed as he swung down from the roof he'd been on, snatching up the dog and swinging back up. "Are you having fun, Snoop? Watch your step, there."

Snoopy responded by licking Miguel's mask all over.

Dwight was quite surprised to say the least as one minute Snoopy was being an adorable goof sliding around on the icy sidewalk and the next minute he was gone.

Being pretty sure dogs couldn't suddenly fly... though, it was Fandom after all so there was that... Dwight looked around and broke into a grin as he looked up, following the sounds of the pup's happy barks.

"Ah should have know it was spider-mischief afoot!" he called out as he caught sight of Miguel and the pup swinging overhead.

Miguel pulled his mask off and grinned down at Dwight as he walked down the wall. "Well, someone has to keep an eye out," he managed to splutter out around further face-bathing. "Yes, Snoop, you're a good dog, yes. Yes." He rolled his eyes. "Half canine, half slobber, but good."

Dwight couldn't help but laugh, hard as he tried not to. "Yes, he's definitely all slobber and energy, no denying that." He watched as Miguel walked down and gave a slight bow and a smirk as the got closer. "And thank you for saving Snoopy, Spiderman!"

Miguel snorted. "Saving him from his own enthusiasm." He set the wriggly puppy back on the ground. "Just having a walk?"

"Walk and getting the last minute to-do list taken care of before the school trip" Dwight said with a nod. "Getting in as much pup time as I can before I take him to Furnando's before the trip. Will be the first time I've been away from him for more than a day or two so... trying not to feel too guilty about it" Dwight said as he bent down and rubbed the pup's head. "I know he will be fine at Furnando's, but it's still a bit harder than I was expecting."

"Yeah, he'll do fine. The folks that work there, we'll see." Miguel grinned. "He may put them through their paces."

"Yeah, he can be a handful at times" Dwight agreed. "Sakaki should be happy to see him again though. She was the one working the day I adopted him," Dwight explained with a grin. "But yeah he will be fine. Got everything set up already and he had his own little travel bag ready with his food and favorite toys and... good lord, having a puppy is a lot like having a kid in some ways!"

"I wouldn't know, and I'm fine with that," Miguel said firmly. "Island weird notwithstanding. You taking anybody with you on the trip?"

"Naww, plus one is still open. Only people I'd really invite are already going as teachers, Summer, Gladio, and Amaya, or as someone else's plus one" Dwight said with a nod towards Miguel. "So, will be interesting to see how they pair us up."

"You could always ask someone else." Miguel tried to think of who he knew on the island. "I had a date with a lady named Margo the other night; she's single."

Also very much not Dwight's type, but give Miguel a break; he'd only known her for three minutes!

"Margo?" Dwight asked, raising an eyebrow as he thought back to the party he had gone to that Margo and Eliot had thrown. "Yeah, thanks but I think I might leave it to chance this time. Not like we usually spend a lot of time in the rooms on the trips right?" he asked with a slight chuckle.

Miguel shrugged. "Depends how much you sleep. Could be interesting to see who you end up with, though."

He was a little sorry Beaker wasn't coming.

"Well, I survived Amaya's snoring last trip... pretty sure I could handle a lot by comparison" Dwight said with a smirk.

Though it was a good thing the Beaker kid wasn't around. A very VERY good thing!

"I've heard rumors about that snoring," Miguel said, grinning. "Can't wait to see who you end up with."

"Glad I am be a source of entertainment for ya" Dwight said dryly before shaking his head. "Will see what fate holds."
