Part of Summer wondered if she should have just come in yesterday so that Apu could get out airing his grievances then and not while she was trying to catch up on a whole week's worth of admin and inventory stuff, but she already put waaaaay too much of herself into this place to do even more, screw that. She was just going to let Apu ramble on for as long as it took him to realize that she wasn't listening because she had her earbuds in and was just listening to a true crime podcast instead.

And then, eventually, partially to keep up the illusion that she cared and partially just to get him to stop or run out of steam, she threw in a, "Oh, yeah, totally. I'm sure it was super hard for you and the panda to deal with the influx of business to cater to the whole maybe five people still on the island last week. What do you want? Some sort of compensation for all the hard work you did while we were so tragically short staffed?"

Apparently, yes, that was what he wanted, and Summer just rolled her eyes and added adding a bonus to his next paycheck to her To-Do list.

What? It wasn't like it was her money.
