Tempting as it was to sort of lean into a theme inspired by the weekend for her jello shots right now, Summer figured that a good portion of the people coming in tonight (up to and including the usual parade of regulars) might not want to be reminded of it. So she'd decided to swing heavily in the other direction with decidedly grown-up style drinks, and then had to decide if she wanted to know why Tino seemed particularly weepy and emotional today, or if that was a rabbit hole that was best left avoiding at a wide, wiiiiide range.

She did, though, at some point, check the back room to see if there'd been a death of mechanical bull, but nope, it seemed to be, as it were, still kicking.

Her next guess was that it might have something to do with a plant, and then she firmly shook her head to remind herself that she did not care and was not going to speculate, because, no. No. Down that road lead only regrets!

Goose had definitely had better days as he made his way to the bar that evening and honestly probably should not be there but moping around his apartment and not sleeping didn’t seem like a good way to spend the evening, especially since he had been doing that the last couple of days.

“What would be a good strong one to start with” Goose looked over the specials, he was going to have all of them of course but right now, he was definitely feeling like something strong.

Being at the bar and moping was so much better than being at home and moping, it was a proven fact!

"Seems kind of a moot point," Summer pointed out and echoed the narrative, "since you're obviously going to be having all of them," in fact, she'd started setting up a line of shots for Goose practically since he walked through the door, not out of any sort of preconsception of hi current mood or anything, but just because he was a dedicated Full Setter. "But either the Old Fashioned," she pointed out the shots on the line as she named them, "or the Jack and Coke.

"Or possibly the Spam," she amended after a beat, "just to get it over with."

Even if Goose was also a dedicated Doesn't Mind THOSE Shots-er, too.

Goose did actually perk up a little at the sound of a spam shot, so he decided to try that one first because it also seemed like one that could distract him the most, “I think I’ll try the spam one first,” he decided and took that shot, “oh that one was good,” he remarked.

It was quite likely that he would end up having a couple of extra shots as well the way everything had been going.

The look on Summer's face was nothing but mystified affection.

"Goose, you sweet gargantuan man," she stated, "don't ever change."

She was just going to go ahead and refill that Spam shot space for him with another to get to later, before asking, "so how's it goooooing?"

She figured leaving it good and vague and open was a good way to determine where everyone was at after the weekend.

Goose really did not know how to answer that question and stared down at the remaining shots for a few moments, “it’s … “ he started and realised he did not know so he had another shot before he could come up with an answer, “I … I found out some news from my visitors this weekend and I don’t know what to do with the information,” he finally admitted.

"Yeah," Summer offered with a consoling, empathetic tone, "saaame."

Summer, finding out there were versions of you that named kids Naruto was not even on the same level.

Her head tilted thoughtfully at Goose.

"Wanna talk about it?"

“It’s … it’s complicated,” which was a bit of an understatement, “and there’s going to be a lot of fallout when people back home find out,” he sighed and downed another shot. “I’m …”

Well Goose had been planning to talk to Ignis about it since Ignis would know just how complicated finding out about Walsh being his father was and what Max being alive meant for him but maybe a different perspective wouldn’t hurt either?

“It’s … um….I found out my CO is my father,”

It felt weird to actually say those words.

Rey looked slightly better than she had yesterday, but most notably her hair was actually down for once to try and cut down on the amount of people worrying. Woukd that work? Who knew!

She was eyeing Rey a little, though, and her face, and decided to just smile sweetly with the half-expected, "Want one?"

Honestly,Summer would have been disappointed if she hadn't.

She considered Rey and the specials board for a moment before deciding on a Cosmo shot and setting it in front of her.

"You wind up going back home last week?" she guessed.

"I did. I got through work on Sunday and left," Rey said. "Not my proudest moment, but..."

But leaving to avoid pollen soon after a breakup was self-care.
