Devil's Nest | Thursday Evening
Annie was pretty much exhausted. She'd spent the last week at work celebrating National Superhero Day (which, of course, meant National Superhero Weekend), doing a meet-and-greet at Vought Land (the Super Park) outside her new carousel, and managing to squeeze in a shareholders' meeting that she actually didn't even sleep through. Amazing.
On top of that, while she was very busy in New York, things in Fandom hadn't been quiet, either. Not only had the confusion of last week taken place, and she still wasn't a hundred percent sure what had gone on there even after Summer's explanation, but Diego and Five had made some headway on the time travel thing! Or, well. Okay. Maybe that was overly optimistic, but they were at least trying, which was a huge step in the right direction if you asked Annie, even if it didn't quite seem to be working all the way yet. And even if it meant that both residents of MHA #2 were fairly exhausted, as a result.
In any case -- look. When life gave you an easy theme thanks to the calendar, sometimes you were just too tired to question it.

"Wow, that's a lot of choices."

And also she was too tired to think of anything better, so. When in Rome, drink margaritas.

The last time Annie had seen Wanda, things hadn't seemed like, great. Seeing her out and about and asking after margaritas seemed like a dramatic improvement, and she was glad to see it.

Not really leaving her apartment, and spending a lot of her time studying a book from Hell, but she wasn't bending people to her will? That was good, right?
"Just keeping to myself, mostly. And Jeff." Jeff was always there for her.

Maybe it would get better! Annie seriously didn't want to actively hope Vought gave her a break to focus on Maeve next month, but...it really would be nice.

Well, in Wanda's opinion.
"What's up with work?" Apocalypse? Wanda got that.

"National Superhero Day was last week," Annie explained, killing the blender's power and pouring out a bright red drink for Wanda. She plunked a bendy straw and a cocktail umbrella in it before sliding it across the bar. "So I was like, in a parade for that, and I had to go do a thing at our theme park, and they've got me doing rehearsals for this new competition show I'm hosting this summer on top of all that."
She made a face at Wanda. "I'd love to, like, save a cat from a tree."

And she also thought she'd been handling her repression over the last weekend exceptionally well (initial morning notwithstanding), but all that sort of blew up in her face that afternoon thanks to a nice little voicemail that was the icing on the messy little cake of abandonment issues disguised as a fear of commitment and aggressive aromanticism.
It was definitely a drinking night. The Devil's Nest won out over Caritas on the sole merits of being marginally closer.
"Welp," she said, as she found a spot at the bar and took in the specials board, "I guess I'm having margaritas tonight."
This should go well.

idolfavorite coworker."You could also have a Mexican beer and stay on-dubious-theme," Annie offered with a shrug and a smile. "But margaritas are fun and hide their booze well, so I like 'em."

Amaya nodded a little.
"I'm sure I will, too," she decided. "Let's just start with the first and work our way down."
Feeling ambitious tonight, this one.
no subject
Rest assured, Amaya! Obviously that was important to you!
no subject
"Whichever one," she decided, after at least a moment to consider it, "goes down quicker."
She was big on efficiency, after all.
(Well, sometimes).
no subject
Just a guess. Or else Amaya just liked her tequila, which was also super acceptable.

insistedsaid. "I'm actually here to celebrate."Couldn't you tell, by the celebratory disposition just radiating off of her?
She did actually manage to sound mildly chipper about it, though.
no subject
"Oh, really? Well then congratulations are in order -- what's the occasion?" she asked, lifting the margarita she'd been nursing herself in a preemptive toast.

There were worse ways to celebrate a thing, she figured.
"The passionfruit one is real good," she added, holding up her own very bright glass from behind the bar.

Which actually reminded Annie that she should have done that before Easter. Damn it.
"Frozen, or on the -- over ice?" she asked, holding up her blender pitcher in one hand and a glass in the other.

If you could even call it pestering.
no subject
Well. Hibernated and/or had stuff going on at home.

And with perfect timing, there was Rey's drink, complete with a bendy straw and an umbrella.
