Shunsui was not having a good time this week, which was particularly annoying, because he usually enjoyed his first week back from Soul Society business immensely, especially in the summer time, when so many more of his favorite spots to nap were more available and the warmer weather inspired a more...we'll say breezy sense of fashion in the locals. But it was hard to appreciate shorter sleeves and and lighter tops and favorite napping spots when he couldn't seem to actually sleep.
Here was a man who had been stabbed and shot, brutalized and battered, crashlanded from incredible heights and kicked so hard that the trajectory of his body cleaved a nearly mile-long chasm into the ground....and none of it compared to how terrible he was feeling right now. He was feeling perfectly fine until he got back; was it something to do with his gigai? Did he need to write an angry letter to Urahara about his faulty product? That sounded like an awful lot of work that he very clearly did not have the energy for right now...
He'd even tried exhausting himself with Katen Kyōkotsu last night, but all that seemed to result in was that he was now not only sleep deprived and exhausted, but also covered in bandages because he was not exactly in his best fighting form. It probably would have been worse, but they decided to actually show a little bit of mercy, especially since beating down an already broken down man was hardly any fun for them...
He just hoped, as he slumped on the counter, clinging to his sake jug, that his current condition might lead to a certain level of sympathy and perhaps coddling from a beautiful woman.
