Fandom Fire Station, Friday
"Look, ma'am," Travis said. He rubbed his forehead, then got lost for a little while in the satisfying sensation he got rubbing his very tired eyelids. Then remembered he was on the phone with the public and tried to snap his tired, tired brain back in gear. "Ma'am. I'm sorry, but I don't think I can send the aid car out just to drive you around the island in hopes it lulls you to sleep. Maybe try an uber on the mainland? . . . Okay, well, that's between you and your uber rating then. How about a rickshaw? . . . How the hell did you manage to get banned from the rickshaws? . . . Oh god, I didn't actually want to know."
He really hoped nothing caught fire before the island had its collective nap. At this rate he would probably just stare at the pretty pretty flames until he ended up a crispy cinder ala Looney Tunes.

Sleeplessness isn't a CO-poisoning symptom but maybe check your detectors anyway
You're up all night so you might as well, right?
The fire station was open.

He came in and looked around, then headed for Travis, abandoning that hope. "Good afternoon, Mr. Montgomery."

That . . . almost made sense in his head.

". . . You want me to rescue a flamingo from your roof?" Travis rubbed his neck. "Did I fall asleep? This seems like a dream thing."

"Do I have a ladder," Travis said.
And then had to think about it.
"I have . . . many ladders."
He did not have the coordination right now to functionally use any of them.
"Could send Probie after it."

Travis nodded, like that was an answer.
"I'm . . . very tired."
no subject
"Maybe I should see if I can get my flight collar to work." He hadn't had a lot of experience with it, but theoretically it should do the job.
"I'll bring my phone, in case I should end up in a tree."

Walking around the island just to walk wasn't anything new but he usually was aware of his surroundings. It was something of a miracle he hadn't fallen down (or up) any stairs yet. Or been attacked by wildlife.
But as long as he was here he might as well go inside, right? "I...hello."

Nothing about this conversation was going to make any sense, was it.

"I don't think you can. But maybe you could? I don't know. Don't know anything right now. I don't think there's any help to be had." Stark was fairly convinced he was never going to sleep again at this point.

"I...I don't know? Should I know? I was walking and then I was here and I don't remember getting here. I had class. Summer's class and my class and then I left and now I'm here."
no subject
"Uh huh."
Travis blinked a few times, before remembering he was in the middle of a conversation.
"Um. Hey, you wanna sit or something?"
no subject
"I've been walking." For an indeterminate amount of time and Fandom was not the easiest terrain to wander around, especially when you felt half-dead from lack of sleep. But that wasn't an answer and he'd already said it besides.
"Yes," he said after another pause. "I would. I'm...I'm very tired. Very tired. You look tired."
no subject
"I . . . am also very tired, yes," Travis said. "Which is . . . why I'm sitting." He looked around blearily, then dragged a spare chair over and rolled it towards Stark. "Here you go."
no subject
"Sitting makes sense. I don't know why I kept walking." Probably because once he'd started his capacity for rational thought was already greatly diminished and the idea of stopping and resting hadn't even occurred to him. "Sitting is better."
"You can't sleep either? I can't sleep. Summer couldn't sleep. This is new. I think. I don't remember not sleeping like this just not sleeping well but that was different. This is different. Something's different? I don't know. Nothing makes sense. I should stop talking."
no subject
Travis was bobbing his head up and down in a nod. And kind of making himself dizzy.
". . . Talking about what?"
no subject
"I talk to myself. Sometimes. Or to...what's left. Of people. In my head. But I wasn't...I don't think. I don't know."
no subject
Travis shrugged. "Man, I am so tired I have no idea. You're probably fine."
no subject
That was probably obvious. Or maybe not, since Travis was just as sleep deprived.
"I still have your shirt," he added suddenly. As if that was in any way relevant to anything.
