JGoB, Sunday morning
Stark had, finally, properly slept. He'd slept a lot and then woken up confused because in his sleep-deprived state he'd stared at the moon Friday night when it seemed to be speaking to him (hearing voices wasn't anything new, he heard voices more than he admitted to nearly anyone but they were usually just echoes in head) and told it, very seriously, that he wanted tea and he wanted to be held. And there had suddenly been a mug of tea and a small animal clinging to him. That wasn't what he'd had in mind, but the creature (it was a koala, because that's what happened when you were an Austr-alien, apparently) hadn't let go until Stark had finally fallen asleep a little while later. It was gone when he awoke. He wasn't sure how he felt about that.
Now Stark was hungry and a hungry Stark could often be found at the bakery. He hadn't exactly been concerned with regular meals the past week. He was seated at a table by the window with a cinnamon roll roughly the size of a child's head in front him and an iced tea. He'd had enough coffee this week to last for a little while. Or at least until tomorrow.

Yes, she realized it probably didn't work that way, but it was worth a try, right?
So she put in an order and looked around while she waiting, giving Stark a small nod of greeting as she did.
"Morning," she offered.

"Good morning," Stark said, nodding in return. "Better than most of them recently. I slept." Yes, he sounded overly relieved about that.

There hadn't been enough tea in the world. Until the favor, anyway. That kind of high quality Radchaai tea you couldn't even get at most stations made it worth it, really.
"I am glad that's finally over at least..."

That much sleep deprivation wasn't good for short-term memory. Who knew?

And she was grateful for that. Having one sleep addled brain was one thing, but two? She was much better off not knowing how poorly Anaandee Mianaai handled her insomnia.
"I bet the coffee shop made a killing, though."
Not from her, of course. No amount of sleeplessness could drive her that far.

Stark shrugged. "Hopefully this week is easier."
He knew better than to say things like that. And yet.

That, finally, would happen. No thanks to that moon.

Which could be terribly awkward when you weren't very close to water.

Not yet, anyway. It remained a possibility for the future, perhaps.

"It seems like being an animal isn't a problem at the time, at least? At least it doesn't seem to bother people when they are animals. Only after. Not sleeping bothered a lot of us. I've no desire to repeat that."
He could deal with not sleeping well, having had plenty of experience with that, but not sleeping at all had been far too much.

Maybe if she left her apartment more often for something other than work....

"Things have been fairly calm, aside from the not sleeping, since the raccoon incident," Stark said. "Well. There were the woodchucks the one night. And you?"
