Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [05/18].
If Apu-san or the cheese panda (or the turtle and the canary, for that matter) were up to anything strange, unusual, highly questionable or vaguely disturbing that day, Shunsui did not notice nor did he care because last week he'd been so cruelly deprived of some of his favorite napping spots, and this week, he planned on making up for it. Which meant he fully intended to spend most of his time slouched comfortably on the counter by the register with very few plans of relocating except perhaps, occasionally, to the back office.
He wouldn't be missing much anyway, though, just some signage up by the school and office supplies announcing 25% off all stationary for the week.

And another sudden reappearance. (If maybe not literally. She was the usual amount of slow and quiet about coming in through the door.) There was no longer neither a sling holding her arm, nor a bandage around it, and she looked a little more tan than she had the last time she'd come around.
"Well," she said, taking in the nap-ready state of Shunsui, "things look normal here."
no subject
And even though her visits had become less and less of a normal thing these days, he was still going to count her presence there today as another indication of said normalcy.
He cracked open one eye, lifted his hat from his face.
"Konnichiwa....Octavia-chan ♥."
no subject
She knew the odds of him being the best source for whatever had been going on on the island in her absence were... not great. That wasn't going to stop her asking.

"Just a week so horrible," he decided, as he poured, "that it best not be mentioned ever again, the start of the summer session, and,of course, some very good sake ♥."
Two cups of which were now being offered out for her choosing.
"You're looking quite well, Octavia-chan ♥," he added.
Certainly less injured than the last time they spoke.
no subject
The not-so-physical was closely related to why she was assuming the horrible week he was referring to may well have been the one she'd been present for the first half of, so she was definitely going along with the 'best not mentioned again' route.
Octavia shrugged one shoulder, still favoring the one that hadn't been injured, out of habit, then reached for the cup that was closest. Careful, deliberate, but more confident than she'd managed with the other hand last time.
"We were in the Bahamas again for a couple of weeks."

With a soft smile for another successful hand-off, Shunsui shifted his hand around his own cup, lifting it to his lips, but not drinking until after he asked, "And was it as lovely and enjoyable as it sounds ♥?"
no subject
Not at all as a cover for being a little avoidy towards her partners for most of the first week there. Cough.
"Always something to fix."
no subject
Asked the man avoiding work while at the work he went to specifically to avoid...other work.

The smirk disappeared into a sip.
"As long as you had a good time, Octavia-chan ♥."
Preferably one better than just okay, but she hadn't come back with her arm in a sling this time, so he'll take it.
no subject
"It's a pretty place." Again with the shrug. "You'd like it."
no subject
One more sip, and he was ready for a refill, so he settled the cup on the counter to do just that.
"Assuming, of course," he noted as he poured, "I'll not have to fix anything ♥."
no subject
Not so much for her and Duke, but hey, at least someone did vacation right.
"It's not a requirement."
no subject
And, with his next round poured, he of course tilted his head and the jug toward Octavia to see if she wanted her own touch up, though it definitely came with a tilted grin as well.
no subject
And then slid her own cup over for a refill.
no subject
"So," he said as he settled the jug nearby and returned to his own cup, "did you bring back any particularly interesting souvenirs ♥?"
no subject
Ones she hadn't eaten and drank before they came back, anyway.
no subject
And he almost even managed to keep the irony out of that statement. Almost.
"I suppose, then," he said with a shrug of his shoulder, a sway of his non-sake hand, "you'll just have to come show me those clothes on your next visit. Unless, of course, they're the type of clothes intended for...particular company only ♥ ♥ ♥."
And there was no attempt to even think about keeping the suggestion out of that statement.
no subject
(Yeah it did.)
"They're just clothes," she said, mildly. "Nothing that interesting."
