Annie had spent the whole day emailing with her team back home -- not her actual team, of course, though Maeve had sent her a text saying glad you arent dead and Annie was pretty ready to engrave that on a bracelet. No, no, she was in talks with her PR people, and her beauty team (it was apparently going to be a golden blonde tomorrow, as she'd suspected), and her choreographer.

And between her chosen medium of communication with folks back home, and the way she and Diego shared pretty much everything as it was -- she had not noticed anything was happening today before she came into work.

"Did you miss me?" she asked Tiny as she sidled in behind the bar. "I was in 1963. In case you were wondering."

And of course Tiny hadn't been wondering, but Annie continued, "I almost helped save JFK."

Which. On a different day, she might have framed that as...less of an almost? But whatever.

Rey and Jaskier hadn't had one on one time in a while, so she showed up a little early to meet him. And since she lived alone, she had gone the whole day without realizing what was up.

"I don't know what any of those specials are," Rey said.

"They're all from the 1960s," Annie shared, glancing at the board. "Which is where Diego and his brother and I have been for the last week and a half."

Hm. She'd meant to lead up to that more.

"But I can also make you something less...whiskey-y," she added."

"I did," Annie replied, considering her specials and deciding to tilt that Old-Fashioned into an amaretto sour, which would be close but less alcoholic and much less alcoholic-tasting. "Diego's siblings wound up in the '60s when Five lost them last year, and we finally caught up with them last week in 1963."

Eddie wasn't really a cocktail kind of guy, so he was mostly just looking at them and wondering if maybe this was the hipster bar of the two in town.

Which was possible!

"Can I just do a beer instead?" he asked.

"I'm certain there are some bars in L.A. that would do that," Eddie replied. Because clearly he wasn't going to any of those bars.

Those were saved for Hen and Karen's date nights and to be shared with the team so they could judge the locations based on those experiences.

To be fair, Annie was drinking a beer behind the bar and not a Manhattan, so.

What he tried to say was that he was more of a beer guy, but what came out was, "Beer is the safer option. Cocktails make me uncomfortable in a way I don't like to think about."

Will had heard that Annie was back in town, so he figured he'd stop by the bar and say hi.

"Hey!" he greeted. "How's my favorite superhero?"

... In fairness, he would've said that even without there being a weird truth spell thing going on today.

"Awww!" Annie clasped a hand to her heart, which she also would have done no matter what. "I'm good! Newly returned from 1963, actually. Diego and I almost stopped the Kennedy assassination."

Maybe Will would be a person who thought that was cool? Weirdly, such people were kind of thin on the ground.
