The Perk - Monday Early

The worst part about being away for so long was trying to get back into something resembling a routine. So that morning Dwight had attempted to go for a run, quickly realized just how much he had let himself go over the last month and ended up going for a brisk walk instead.

He still ended at the Perk to get himself an ice coffee and sat down at one of the tables. The notepad beside him had a few things scribbled in his messy handwriting, including a number of things to take care of at the shop to get it back in order and a couple of projects he needed to follow up on.

He was getting tired just looking at the growing to-do list. He was probably doing to get another coffee before all was said and done.

The coffee maker was apparently doing a thing that Rosa didn't want to deal with, and she sure as hell wasn't dealing with paintball uncaffeinated, so she was at the Perk, already expecting a disaster drink because a large black coffee should not be taking this long, you guys.

It was also long enough for Rosa to notice What's-His-Face sitting over there and make a face about it, too.

Good morning, Dwight, welcome ba~ack~!

Dwight might have been a bit out of it after the month he had had, but he still knew well enough not to attempt 'casual conversation' with Rosa. So, she got a slight of acknowledgement when he met her gaze for a moment. That should be safe enough right?

Depends on where you landed on getting a quirked eyebrow in response, really.

A quirked eyebrow that held for a moment as if checking that this whole no bullshit small talk thing was a fluke or not.

And then her coffee was ready, and her attention shifted toward taking a sip, and seeing that it didn't taste like anything but the coffee it was supposed to be, slipped a tip into the jar and left.

Before it was too late.

Dwight had learned his lesson. No instigating small talk on this end. You were in luck Diaz. After all, he wasn't so sure his old man hadn't been right and people in general were better off not getting too close or comfortable around him.
