Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Initially Summer had said she'd come to training today to watch Rey show off, but with her also needing to talk Rey had made sure that the palm tree lockers were stocked up with snacks and things that she thought might be appropriate for girl talk. (She was still pretty new at that but look at her trying, okay.)

And until anyone arrived, she was working against a few remotes today. Nothing crazy, just something to keep her mind occupied. And to show off a little.

The one bad thing about having an whole inexplicable warehouse district on your island was that it meant that all the warehouses were together in the same vicinity, so that when Summer came around to stop by to see Rey during her training in her warehouse, she couldn't help pausing to give a complicated wrinkle of her nose in the direction of Barry's warehouse, but it was a good reminder to herself that she really should talk to Rey...or anyone, really...about some stuff, instead of just showing up to watch her force jump her way through the ceiling.

Which, like, force jumping was still weirdly hilarious to her, she was legitimately stoked for that.

Summer still didn't feel like she was necessarily at "just let herself in" levels with Rey's warehouse like she was with Barry's, but since Rey was mostly expecting her to swing by, she did crack the door open after she knocked and poked her head in to call out, "Rey? Is it safe to come in?"

She was very accustomed to entering warehouses with extreme caution these days.

"Yeah!" Rey called, pivoting towards the door so she was facing Summer when she lifted her hand and shut down the remotes, sending them carefully to the floor. "I try to keep things away from the door so no one gets caught in anything."

The benefits of warehouses, really.

"Smart," Summer noted, pushing the door open all the way so that she could come on in, with a renewed confidence in her safety in doing so. "You should share that note with Barry sometimes. I think I pretty much instinctively just duck when I walk into his warehouse, because you never fucking know with that guy."

She gave Rey a faint smile. "How's my timing? Am I interrupting anything juicy and intense?"

"Your timing is good. This is the kind of thing I do to kill time before people show up," Rey smiled, shutting down her lightsaber and clipping it to her belt. "How are you doing?"

"...eh," Summer said, shrugging her shoulders, and feeling like that was...mostly honest. Distracting herself with class and Pride prep had given her a weird muddled distance from everything. "Not great. Definitely be better once I see you actually hit that ceiling," her eyes drifted up that way with an approving consideration of the height with a grin, "though."

"Then by all means let me help," Rey told her.

She looked up to the ceiling, like she was calculating, and then bent her knees slightly to shoot herself up and touch the ceiling with her hand before dropping back down like it was nothing.

She'd practiced it a lot this week.

Suddenly, with that calculating pause, Summer was wishing she'd brought popcorn, but, instead, she just clasped her hands eagerly to her chest to watch and....did everything in her power to choke down a laugh, because, so help her, force jumps were impressive and seriously awesome, but they would never not look goofy as hell to her at the same time.

"Amazing," she gushed when Rey landed. "I love it. You didn't even break a sweat."

"I think of it as telekinesis, except I'm just moving myself," Rey explained. "When I think of it that way it's easy."

But the gushing was kind of nice to hear.

Summer's head tilted as a thought ticked in her brain. "Actually," she said, "that makes a whole lot of sense why it looks the way it does if that's part of it, because it's not just, like, being really super good at jumping. It's being super good at jumping and lifting."

Like, you know, mind blown.

"And it doesn't feel like either," Rey said. "Did that help?"

"So what does it feel like?" Summer had to asked, because, yes, this new perspective on how it worked was fascinating, and also, stalling, what stalling?

She always was pretty good at multitasking.

Rey thought about it. "Not really any different than reaching to pick up something from a table or walk across the room, mostly. It's different when it's something that takes more concentration. There's a strain to that," she said. "And you didn't answer the question."

"What question?" asked Summer, not even being cheeky about it, either, as she considered Rey's description, and shook her head, feeling pretty sure the Force would always just mystify her on a certain level. "If it helped?"

"Rey?" Anakin called as he let himself in.

"Yeah," she called, having added a couple remotes by now because she could.

Anakin grinned. "Have you got your equilibrium back, then?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Feels like," Rey said, not stopping what she was doing. "At least I might be handling things better."

"That's practically the same thing," Anakin said.

Don't listen to him on mental health, Rey.

"Need another remote?"

[thatwaslucky]

"No but add one anyway," she decided.

[sith_happened]

"I'll give you two," Anakin decided because he was a jerk like that. He fired them up and set them loose.

"I should have seen that," Rey sighed, immediately moving to be able to handle them both, goddamn it Anakin.

Anakin beamed like a person who was very pleased with himself. Because he was very pleased with himself. "You're fine."

"I am, but still."

She was having no problem. Her focus was good, her form suffered some when she was dealing with this many, but she wasn't getting hit.

"But still what?" Anakin replied. "You're not struggling."

[thatwaslucky]

"No, I just hate remotes."

She said, while batting a bolt towards him just because she knew he could handle it.
