Devil's Nest | Thursday Evening
The bar totally smelled like...something, didn't it? Annie wasn't going to worry about it, given that she actually had the miracle of some time off this weekend. For the first time in months, her Wednesday-Sunday break in Fandom was staying intact.
Granted, the tradeoff was that her show started filming in a little over a week, but that could also be worse. She was pretty happy with the lineup of contestants -- particularly since, yes, she knew one of them pretty well and was kind of crossing her fingers for him. At least for now, anyway.
But she was looking forward to a quiet night at the bar so she could focus on something that had nothing to do with Vought or the Seven or being on TV: she had her phone out, and she had Pinterest up, and Annie was being a goddamn bride for awhile while she dicked around at work tonight, okay? Tonight was going to be about forgetting she was a superhero, and instead concentrating on whether she was more of a veil or a tiara kind of gal.~*Specials*~

This guy.
"Miss January," he greeted, with a motion somewhere between a twirl and a flop as he sat himself down at the bar.

"I've no complaints-" he stopped, frowned, and then revised his statement. "I have some complaints. About the absurdity of Wednesday activities. But it's a new day," coming up on the end of a new day, actually, "so I am trying not to dwell on it."
Re: Bar | 6/23 | DN
"Oh, complaining about Wednesdays is, like, a rite of passage around here, though I like that optimism," Annie replied, smiling. "It drops off at the end of August when the kids go back to school, at least."

She was more than willing to help with the stuff that might be baffling to a guy from a hundred years ago, too. (God help him if she got to use her blender.)

"Ah, well, they're missing out," Watts shook his head. "I've no qualms with beer, but if I'm to sit and truly enjoy a drink, then wine it is. I'll take a glass of that, then."
Re: Bar | 6/23 | DN
Or, you know, basic stuff, but Annie was pretty basic sometimes.

WHITE CLAW, he scribbled on one of those pieces of paper.
He gave the wine glass a swirl and a sniff before taking a sip.
“Ah,” he said. “Interesting. Suppose I ought to have expected the taste to change somewhat.” Not in a bad way, just- not quite what he’d been expecting.

Wine was so interesting!
(Also, Watts, she was more of a 'take notes on your phone' kind of person, but respect.)
Re: Bar | 6/23 | DN
He knew of mobile phones, thanks to Steven, but had yet to go to the trouble of procuring one for himself. Someday!
