Laszlo seemed distracted today, and while Tino certainly didn't ask why, he was told nonetheless.

"Do you think," Laszlo asked, frowning at him, "that in a relationship, you must wait for the other party on everything?"

When neither Tino nor neither member of Laszlo's human crew had a good answer without an example, he continued, "Let's say, for example, that you come across a piece of highly rare erotica that you know your wife would love and, perhaps, have even promised to not view without her. But what if you then did view the piece, but pretended to be quite surprised still when you looked at it with her?"

This was how Laszlo was treated to a whole story about how his boom operator's husband had accidentally revealed a character's death on some silly television program about drug use years prior, and she had still not forgiven him.

Seemed a bit silly to him, really. Laszlo was still leaning towards risking Nadja's wrath, all the same.

Guillermo had been meaning to come back to Caritas for ages and so several months after he had last stopped by, he decided that Thursday evening to stop by for a drink for something different and to try and venture out of his room and the dorms on occasion for something other than classes.

“Er … um ...hey,” he said rather awkwardly as he came up to the bar, still feeling very much out of his element here.

"Hello, little boy," Laszlo greeted him, cheerfully enough.

He was still always a little surprised when one of the infants from the school figured out how to get in here. This child was scarcely old enough to walk and talk, wasn't he?

“Um … I’m Guillermo?” he offered, wincing that it sounded more like a question than it should have. “Do - do you still serve students here?”

The last time he had been in here was for the three minute dates and that had been back in February, maybe it had changed since then?

"I should hope so," Laszlo said, frowning in thought and looking to Tino (who wasn't looking at him, so that was no help.) "I suppose it depends on what it is you're studying."

If it was witchcraft, then -- no, begone. But otherwise students were probably welcome.

It took Guillermo longer than it should have to remember what he was studying, especially since there was a theme with his classes, “oh I’m doing classes on food this semester” he tried, “Local cuisines, food crimes and cupcakes” he added.

"Then you may stay," Laszlo decided grandly, as though he actually decided such things and this was any kind of criteria for that decision. "What is a food crime? Putting glass in someone's stew, perhaps?"

He'd have to remember that, that was a great food crime.

“Oh thank you,” Guillermo beamed as he took a seat at the bar, he had been a bit nervous that he was going to kicked out, “well I think it’s more of food recipes and crimes against cooking? Last week there was maggots in cheese," he revealed.

Guillermo had not tried that particular recipe no.

He paused, "even though I'm pretty sure putting glass in someone's stew would be a crime," he added.

"It's been a long time since I had cheese," Laszlo admitted, "but I'm fairly sure the maggots aren't supposed to be there."

Laszlo had last eaten cheese in the 16th century, so he actually wasn't that thrown off by the idea of a maggot in his cheese, anyway.

"What's something not criminal that Tino can get you to drink?" he added.

“They’re definitely not supposed to be there,” Guillermo nodded, “most cheeses don't have maggots in them, apparently in ancient Sardinian it was considered a delicacy,"

He paused as he tried to think of what drinks he did actually know, "er ... can I have a beer please?"

"Oh, well, if it's as simple as that, I can serve you myself," Laszlo declared, going to etch a glass so he could pour Guillermo a beer that was going to be mostly foam, because he had yet to make any effort towards figuring out how to do that correctly. "Tino loves making fancy cocktails, you see, and I've no natural knack for it myself."

Weirdly! He was so good at most things!

(And also Tino did not enjoy any such thing, probably.)

“Thank you,” Guillermo had never actually had a beer before so he had no idea it wasn’t supposed to be so foamy.

“I don’t really know anything about cocktails,” he admitted, “I’ve only tried one of Summer’s Jello shots before but that was a few months ago,”

I KNOW I am strongly considering watching it on my phone alone and then pretending I'm laughing at all these jokes anew when I see it again over dinner tonight.
