The Perk- Saturday

 Things were lowly coming together at the apartment and Rex even seemed to be settling down a bit more and adjusting to the new setup.  So, Connor wasnt too worried about leaving him at the apartment for a bit while he took care of a few errands around town.

And one of those oh so important stops on his list was a stop at The Perk for some caffeine. After thanking the barista and dropping a tip into the jar on the counter, Connor took his drink and found a spot by the window to sit and enjoy the morning with some people watching and tasty mocha goodness.

Liz was trying to start getting into a routine of going for walks and she had gone to the bakery yesterday, so she decided to stop by the Perk since it had been a while since she had been there.

She had been trying to limit her caffeine intake but Dr. Lecter had said she could have a small cappuccino every now and then, so she decided to stop by the Perk after her walk.

She spotted Connor and smiled, “hello,” she said, remembering him from the picnic.

Connor looked up and smiled, giving Liz a small wave.

"Morning. Liz right? How are you?"

"Not too bad, a bit tired, but I'm better than what I have been," Liz admitted, returning the small wave and she picked up her small cup when her order was ready.

"How about you?" she asked, as started to make her way over to the tables.

"That's good" Connor replied with a nod. "Care to sit?" He asked as he motioned to the empty chair. "Or do you need to get back to the shop?"

“No I can sit down,” Liz told him with a smile as she took the offered seat, “I try not to do much work on the weekend, even though these days I’m finding it harder to be able to concentrate to do work,” she admitted.

"It's good to be able to take some time to relax" Connor agreed. "Especially on the weekends. Weekends are for relaxing and doing things for fun... like taking photos or hanging out at the museum for the heck of it."

“Sometimes I forget about relaxing,” Liz admitted, “especially with the pregnancy, but I’m trying to be better about that - I’m learning how to garden and knit, they’re hobbies I never thought about taking up before,”

"It's good to relax and keep your mind occupied" Connor agreed. "Me old boss, Lester, always said I got into the worse trouble when I was bored. Guess... looking back on everything... he was more right than I realized."

“I know what that’s like,” Liz admitted, “I don’t always think things through, i can get in quite a bit of trouble that way,”

She was trying very hard to not think about how quickly she had fallen apart when Prompto had left and everything that had happened with Steven.

"Eh, humans are illogical creatures most of the time," Connor said with a shrug. "It's a wonder the human species has died out completely yet. So, what's a few small missteps here and there in the grand scheme of things right? At least you haven't messed up so badly you got yourself trapped in the Cretaceous period for over a year" he said with a shrug and a awkward grin. "So, cant be as bad as all that!"

Liz paused and tilted her head, “no I haven’t ever been trapped in the Cretaceous period,” she admitted, “I’m sorry, that must have been terrifying,” she didn’t know a lot about dinosaurs but she recognised the name of the era.

"Eh basically just saying it's all about perspective" Connor said.

"But how's the gardening and all going? Doing more edible garden or pretty look at garden?"

Yes Connor, because saying vegetable or flower was too difficult!

“Well I had my first go on Monday,” Liz told him, “I did start with flowers but Nell’s going to teach me how to plant some herbs,” she paused, “I didn’t really have much chance to garden before,” she admitted.
