There was a bear onstage putting on a heavy metal concert for the moment.

Kitty, having not checked her phone in hours and not seeing any messages, had just walked in to this today. She didn't know why it was happening. Didn't care. care. She didn't even like metal. This was great. She also kind of expected a Coke but knew that was a December thing.

Thanks to her class earlier that day, Rosa had come in with the intention of getting a billini or some wine like the classy bitch she was, but that was a special she couldn't really say no to.

And she was glad to see the bears had stepped up their venue game since that morning, too.

"Rum and coke it is, then," she said, and actually somewhat grinned toward the stage. "You got a bear too, huh?"

"He's been too busy shredding to see if he can tell us a name so I'm calling him Slash in my head," Kitty said. "You got one?"

"Hey," said Rosa, with a shrug and the utmost respect, "when you gotta shred, you just gotta shred. And yeah, only I had a whole band, right before my class. Really set the mood nicely."

"I might want to keep them," Kitty said, sliding over her drink.

Clint stared at the bears for a long moment before taking a seat at the bar. "I'm almost sorry I left Lexi with the babysitter, but I don't think she needs any more wrong ideas about animals than this place has already given her."

"Maybe we should take her to the zoo," Kitty said. Teach her that animals don't rain from the sky or put on bitchin' guitar solos."

"We've got to find a place that has something at least half as cute as the porgs," Clint said. "Can you keep these guys? Maybe get their number for future shows?"

No, he wasn't going to think about how that might work.

"Maybe. Do bears have numbers?" Kitty wondered.

"Maybe you should offer them some kind of contract," Rosa suggested, lifting the drink in appreciation. "See if you can make it a regular thing."

"Maybe I can pay them in fish," Kitty mused.

"I wouldn't be shocked if the animals here knew how to send text messages. If the squirrels ever figure out how to make a newsletter, it's all over for the radio," Clint said. "After yesterday, I was a little worried today would involve more drama, so this is much better."

"Because of the bags?" Kitty asked. "Or did you expect today's crazy to be more traumatic?"

"Yeah, I figured we'd have at least one more day of the bags. Not that I'm complaining." Spending the day shoving suitcases away from himself had been annoying, but it could have been worse. "At least Lexi's still learning to read."

"....Oh we're going to have to figure out a plan for the next time, huh," Kitty realized.

Like she didn't care about her "SOMETIMES GETS POSSESSED BY A DEAD NINJA" but like how do you explain that to a kid.

Clint was equally unbothered by the backpack of DEAD PARENTS that liked to follow him around, but trying to explain that all to Lexi seemed exhausting. "The good news is, we have a smart child who will definitely be reading by the next time this comes around. The bad news is, we have a smart child and she already asks enough questions on her own."

"Do you think we can afford vacations every time weirdness hits?" A joke! Mostly.

"I mean, we have enough people who wouldn't mind putting us up if we visit, right?" They might not be the best influences buuuuut...

"My mom probably wouldn't mind more visits," she agreed. "And assuming no one's currently trying to kill each other at the mansion..."
