The Perk- Tuesday Morning
The island could be a cruel mistress at times. Yesterday was a prime example of that. But it could also, surprisingly and maybe even unknowingly, do something good now and then.
This conflicting jumble of feeling was what Dwight had faced earlier that morning when he awoke to a surprise. He had expected to find all the baggage and what not from the other day finally gone. And it was.... for the most part. Sitting on the work bench when he had gone downstairs however, were two small, now empty, knapsacks. As he stood there bouncing between relief that the bags he had carried and refused to throw in fire last night were still there and a twinge of something he couldn't quite explain over the fact they were still there... Dwight sighed and picked the bags up.
After putting them way carefully, and feeling far too distracted to get any work at the shop done, Dwight headed to The Perk and got a large iced coffee. Caffeine might not have been what he needed but it was good and sitting there watching people out the window was giving him something else to do. So he would count that for a win at the moment. He might even stick around for a second one with the way he was feeling.
