With her little emergency jaunt into space to help, you know, save another galaxy from another really dumb galactic empire type outfit, Summer hadn't had a lot of time to do anything too elaborate for jello shots tonight, which was a little disappointing, it was the first week of the new semester so it would have been nice to go all out for the new people. But of course her ship was equipped with any of the equipment and resources she may need to whip up a decent shot or two, so, by the time she'd gotten back, she was at least a little prepared.

And she was absolutely not asking why Tino was covered in pigeon feathers, either.

This is where most of the drinks and bartenders can be found!

This is not where most of the people wind up crowded around.

Even further from where most people crowd around, but then you have to contend with that stripper pole.

Me, to work right now:

"Huh those all don't sound too bad actually," Dwight said as he sat down at the bar and gave Summer a nod. Yes, even that last one, which was saying something about the mood he was in that evening. "Let's start with one of each, though I have a feeling we might make another go at it later."

"I was working with limited resources today," Summer explained, with a nod as she started setting up a row of shots for Dwight, "so we're just hitting on some nice, simple classics tonight.

"How've you been, Dwight?"

And please note she left it pleasantly open-ended instead of just diving right into the fact that he probably had a helluva time with Monday, at least.

"Much better without the bags" he said simply as he grabbed the first shot and lifted it in a quick toast before downing it. "I would be very happy if the island never did that again! But aside from that..." he gave a small shrug.

There was a lot to still work through from Monday....

"How about you?"

"Fair warning," said Summer, who felt it didn't do any good to just sugar-coat it, "it has happened before, it's definitely not a one-off thing anymore. But I've been good. Don't know if you heard anything about the alert Rey sent out for troops, but I just got back from that while thing, and I'm pretty sure I can add another fallen Galactic Empire to my belt, although this one was waaaay more of a group effort than the other ones."

"Well in that case..." Dwight said as he grabbed the next shot.

When he was done he gave Summer a nod.

"I got it too. Figured I'm more of a liability than an asset in a case like that. Normally the Troubles only affects normal bullets and things. But knowing my luck, the Island has impacted it to affect lasers n what not. Probably best not to risk it.... But glad all was a success from the sound of things!"

"Well," Summer offered, "if you ever wanted to test that theory, I have a shit ton of blasters, with all variety of lasers, we can really do some thorough research there." She flashed him a grin. "But overall, I generally prefer not to shoot my friends if I can help it."

"Will keep that in mind," Dwight said with a laugh. "But I think I am good for now. No need inviting more trouble than is already following me around after all. Especially with the plans and all that are underway. Got enough to focus on and worry about."

"The Plans?" asked Summer, head tilting, and, yes, she felt like, in the context in which it was dropped, there were capital letters that needed to be added to that. "What Plans?"

"Ah right.... don't think I've given you the most recent update. Sorry" Dwight said with an apologetic grin. "A little while back, I got things started for the adoption. There's still a lot to do and no guarantee of anything because damn is that a process. But... yeah... things are moving along."

"Oh!" said Summer, with a little blip in her memory reminding her that, that's right, they had briefly talked about that probably million bar nights ago, and she had to give him a smile there. "Well, congratulations, Dwight! That's great. If you need help with anything, just let me know. I mean, as far as anyone really can help with that. Some twenty-two year old bartender-slash-retail manager probably isn't the best reference to put down, even when she has helped save the universe several times over."

"Appreciate it and will definitely keep it in mind" Dwight said with a nod. "Right now its a whole lot of 'hurry up and get such and such in.... ok now wait.... ok now we need this asap... and then more waiting." He rolled his eyes and sighed. "So much red tape."

Summer grinned a little wryly. "Almost like surviving the process itself is some kind of test," she mused.

Hey, a free drink was more than acceptable to Jane.

And now that her class had ~~hopefully~~ gone off without a hitch, she was at the bar to both celebrate that and check in with her teaching buddy. But also because Stark mentioned this other place.

"What does the asterisk mean?" Because this bitch here was a strawberry daiquiri lady if you ever saw one.

Anakin came into the bar looking like a guy who hadn't slept in a few days and, weirdly, with breadcrumbs in his hair.

"Did you know if you get stuck on a bench brooding for long enough, the birds start throwing things at you?" he asked. "I just learned that."

He needed a very strong drink, Summer.

Anakin came in behind her and sat down. "How did your first day go?" he asked.

Ignore the small breadcrumbs in his hair, please. The pigeons got feisty if you sat and brooded too long today.

"Good!" Jane said, startling a little to turn to meet him. "I think. Teenagers, you know? Some where more enthusiastic about the subject than others, but at least no one fell asleep unlike some of my astrophysics lectures."

At least not that she saw.

"Definitely seems like it at times. Guess the up side is plenty of time to prepare."

"That's always a good sign," Anakin agreed. "I also have an airhorn, just in case."

He did not.

This bitch here was probably a lot of things, from where Summer was standing.

One of those things being new, which, yes, please, hi, maybe potential new hot regular!

"That one's a vegan one," Summer explained, wondering why she ever stopped including that on the board since she usually wound up having to explain it anyway, but hey! Conversation!

"Should I get you one?" she then asked. "Or several?"

Well, now he needed it for any future Wednesday classes.

"I could always drop Mjolnir on the ground, but it might go through the floor and I really doubt I'll get the same response I got at the other bar to that."
