The Magpie Emporium, Monday [5/9]
After the last week, Vi was deeply relieved that there was nothing more stressful or dramatic going on today than Saffron's loud and deeply aggrieved meowing about how terrible her life was. Meowing she was happy enough to forego in favour of purring the moment Vi scooped her up to pay attention to her.
With Little Bot's cheerful assistance, Vi started righting the store from the mess that either those weird fuzzballs (or the gremlins, or the squirrels, or a petulant Saffron) had left in their wake.

[Open!]

She looked around and sighed.
"What did they do to my store?"
Look how magnanimous she was being about not accusing Saffron.

"As normal as it gets around here." Vi smiled at Steph before picking up the plush mimic and putting it next to one of the displacer kitties. "I think they got frustrated by Little Bot not being ticklish."
Quite obviously, trying to tickle Saffron would've ended badly for all concerned.
no subject
"Aw. Little Bot probably felt bad about letting them down that way," Steph said, and came over to steal a kiss.
Though did it really count as stealing if she was going to hand over Vi's coffee in exchange?
no subject
Even if she wasn't a proponent of the idea stolen kisses were better, Steph was stealing her attention from Saffron, so yes.
no subject
"Hi," she said, and wrapped an arm around Vi for a quick hug. "All the plushies behaving today so far?"
Speaking of stealing things, was she wearing one of Vi's shirts today? Maybe.
no subject
"Yeah, I think they're recovering from the past week," she said, resting her head on Steph's shoulder, and frowning. "Is that my shirt?"
no subject
"Maaaaaaaybe," Steph hedged, as if it wasn't obvious from the fact that the shirt was clearly a couple of sizes larger than her usual style.
no subject
"It looks hot on you," Vi said, nuzzling her cheek. "Though what kind of person steals someone else's clothes?"
no subject
"The kind of person who knows they'll look hot in them, clearly." Steph was not above letting a distinct trace of smugness into her voice.
no subject
"Yeah, crime is a very good look on you," Vi said as she looked Steph over, and she should know since she was taking a sexy crime class and all.
no subject
"Damn, if only someone had told me that was all it took to get all the girls..."
As if Steph had ever had trouble with that. You know. Aside from being her own worst enemy.
no subject
"In which case you should definitely stick to the straight and narrow," Vi said without missing a beat. "You should probably take that shirt off and give it back as soon as possible too."
no subject
"I'm sorry, " Steph said, snorting with amusement, "but you completely lost me at 'straight.'"
no subject
"It's the best way to keep the other girls away," Vi argued, not very convincingly.
no subject
"Me taking my shirt off," Steph said, smirking, "is the best way to keep the other girls away."

"I promise you," Steph said indulgently, although she was looking at Vi with a faint trace of concern now, "no random stripteases in public, okay?"
no subject
It wasn't that Vi was feeling jealous or insecure exactly, but, well Steph had seen all that baggage last week. "I wouldn't object to random private stripteases, though," she said.
no subject
"Of course you wouldn't," Steph said, reaching for her hand. "All you have to do is ask, anyway."
But yeah, she'd seen all that baggage, sitting there with all her own similarly-labeled ones.
"It's your private show, you know."
no subject
Vi curled her fingers through Steph's, leaning over to steal her own kiss. "Yeah, I know," she murmured. "Same goes for you."
no subject
"So we're on the same page," Steph said with a note of amusement in her voice, squeezing Vi's hand. "Not that the idea of you, I don't know, throwing me over your shoulder and walking off with me just to send a signal isn't hot as hell."
no subject
"I mean, next time you're at a gig with a too appreciative audience, I might just do that." Look, if Steph was going to give her permission, she might as well take advantage.

This was how you got terrible, earnest RPF written about you, Vi.
no subject
Look, it was never going to happen for real, she could dream. It would spare them the RPF, anyway.
She reached up to wrap her free arm around Vi's neck. "Doesn't matter how many girls toss their bras at me anyway, I'm not going home with any of them."
Okay, now they were just doing it to be sappy.

Granted, her share of the hauling pretty much amounted to watching Vi do it, but details.

"Does this look like the face of someone who would watch you move heavy shit around because it's hot as hell?"
no subject
no subject
"I try to make it worth your time, though."
no subject
Steph wasn't the only one who could be earnest and sappy.
no subject
"Ugh," she said, grinning and pulling Vi closer for a kiss, "you are the sappiest."
Which she clearly thought was just the worst.
no subject
"Sorry," Vi said, utterly unrepentant as she smiled into the kiss. "What I meant was it's absolute torture spending time with you."
no subject
And then they could end it with method RP.
no subject
"You know I never turn down the chance to play with you," Vi replied. "I'll swing by after class?"
no subject
"I've got dinner tonight," Steph promised. "It's going to be great, but it always is, with you."
no subject
"Stop, you're making my blush." Which was clearly just as bad as being sappy.

"It is if you want it to be."
no subject
"Yeah, I think I do." Plus she could always make a comment about Steph's noodle arms.
no subject
And also smiling ridiculously.
They'd get past this stage eventually, but Steph at least didn't seem to be in any hurry about it.
