Fandom Museum- Monday

 The weekend had been fairly relaxing and while he wasnt sure how much traffic they would get with it being a holiday and all, Connor still came in for his shift that morning.  Rexy made himself comfortable on the top of the shelf overlooking the front desk and soon was asleep. Selecting one of the folders Blathers had made about the flora on the island, Connor settled down behind the desk and started reading and jotting down a few notes here and there, ready to help if anyone came in needing help.

Connor had said he worked at the museum on Monday and Cutter not only still remembered that detail, also remembered that he said he’d stop by at one point.

“So this is the museum?” he asked by way of greeting as he looked around.

"Hey Cutter! Yup this is the place," Connor said as he immediately perked up. He was definitely not nodding off while reading Blathers' extensive notes! Don't be silly!

"How you been? Adjusting to the island alright so far?"

“Not bad, considering the interesting week that we had,” Cutter considered, “to think I thought coming here would be normal,” he added dryly.

"Hah, yeah..... this place is surprisingly bizarre. I mean, less dangerous than dealing with Spinosaurus, Mammoths, or Mosasaurs... but still" Connor gave a small shrug.

"How did class go? Rexy looked like he had fun" Connor said with a glance up to the sleeping Rex.

Cutter's lips twitched as that, "the way the week was going I was half expecting an anomaly to appear," he admitted.

He glanced over at Rex and this time he did smile softly at that, "it went rather well ... it seems most of the kids are interested in learning about dinosaurs, I might start off with that lesson this week," Cutter considered, "or one of them since it's such a broad topic to cover,"

"I think Rex did enjoy himself, he spent a lot of time flying around the classroom, it's a good thing the windows were locked," he admitted.

"Well, if ya ever need me or Rex's help, just let me know" Connor said with a grin. "There's a couple places on the island where there's a half-decent soil profile nd decent layer... could be an interesting topic to cover. And there's plenty of shells and such by the lighthouse. Even found a couple old ammonite fossils the other day."

“Really?” Cutter actually did look interested at that, “I haven’t been out to the lighthouse yet, I might have to go check it out,” he considered, “haven’t had much of a chance to explore the island properly yet,”

He paused, “but thanks for the offer of help, I’ll definitely keep that in mind, I’m sure the kids wouldn’t object to seeing Rex again, I think they quite liked him,”

Connor nodded, his expression going somewhat sober for a moment. How do you tell someone you want to and are able to do anything they want? They you are definitely fine with helping them out and lending a hand, seeing as how as far as they have known for the last few years they are dead?

"Rex and I are game for just about anything," Connor said with a small sad smile. "I think he's just happy to see you again. It's.... it's been a while since we've seen our Cutter."

“Oh?” Cutter tilted his head thoughtfully, he hadn’t actually considered the possibility that Connor would have his own version of him, “is he not working for the …” he had been about to say the Home Office and had to remember it was the ARC now, “the ARC anymore?”

"Ah yeah.... you've not been to the ARC in a while," Connor said, suddenly finding himself unable to look at Cutter.

He wanted to tell him what happened. To warn Cutter, in case there was a chance to stop this version of his boss and one of his best friends from dying. But he had seen enough movies to know, just blurting out that Cutter was dead back in his time line and that the same could happen again might do more harm than good.

"It's been.... different without you and Lester going at each other all the time," Connor said with a small laugh.

Cutter wasn’t the most observant person ever but he did pick up on the way Connor didn’t seem to be able to look at him.

He paused at the part about him and Lester, “I imagine that would be a bit strange to get used to,” he remarked especially since they were usually arguing about something.

"Yeah, it's taken some adjustment." Understatement of the century there Connor? "But glad you are settling in and classes are going well. It's a small island so learning your way around doesn't take too long. The rest of it though.... weeelll...." Connor gave a shrug and a grin. "You know where to find me though if you ever need anything!"
