Superheroing- Community Center- Wednesday
Kitty had sent messages to the class to meet at the Holoscene for class today, since an actual community center wouldn't cut it all of the time. And the only reason she didn't walk through the wall for this particular class was because she didn't know the tech well enough to know that she wouldn't short it out.
"Powers," she began. "Most superheroes have them. It's not a prerequisite, you can just be really skilled at something. But people do link superheroes and powers. You can even base your whole identity off of them, though I would personally recommend keeping that to your superhero identity and keeping your own stuff separate, but that's a topic for another class. And honestly, they're great for most people. I've also known people who have had powers that make it hard to fit in, were hard to contain, or just made life more difficult. It can be a mixed bag.
"I, for instance, can phase through solid objects," she said, dropping u to the floor up to her knees like it was nothing. "My natural state is intangible these days, and for the most part it's great. I haven't known where the keys to my office at the bar are for years and I don't need them anyway, I can get in anywhere, and most things can't hurt me. However twice now I've also gotten stuck intangible and had to be contained in tubes or suits so I didn't dissipate and die. Like I said, a mixed bag. So I want to know your powers, if you have them. If you can safely demonstrate your powers here, go for it. If there are downsides, you can talk about it. And then, we're gonna try some other stuff."

Talk before class
Powers!

Re: Powers!
Well, it was more complicated, but that was a pretty decent summary. "I have enhanced reflexes and can pick up on others' feelings and thoughts--though after more than fifteen years of teaching teenagers, I'm very good at blocking those out--and can lift and throw things using the Force." He blew out a breath. "And the Force is our way of explaining the energy that holds the universe together."

Steven looked uncertainly at some of the others in class and decided not to complicate things more than he had to. "Right. Also can come back from the dead, if it comes to it. Did that once. Not looking for a repeat. Can't say it's not handy. But to do all that I've got to put my suit on, you see. Sort of summon it, which I guess also counts as an ability. If I'm as I am now I don't have any of that. Except being able to summon the suit. And not die. Those are an all the time thing, long as I've got the job."

None of which she could exactly demonstrate at the moment, but pfft, she didn't feel like she needed to.

Activity
Choosing flying would show you what it's like to fly over the mountains, choosing super speed would be running with a city zooming past you, and phasing means you get to leave the room and walk through a wall, lol.
What'd you pick?

Since he already had flight (and didn't care to try it) and speed (nowhere near as fast as a speedster but still) he opted for the phasing. Maybe it was only walking through a wall but he was thrilled. "Brilliant! Imagine all the places you could explore! You wouldn't damage anything that way, would you?"

And maybe silently judging the mountains for not being the Colorado Rockies. Shh. Damn, this would've been an amazing aerial tour of Haven Springs...
