Raiden was in such a good mood today he was singing while he worked. Unfortunately, he was quite tone deaf. It might sound a little like something was being tortured.

But the Pizza Planet was open!

You know what Rey wasn't doing yet? Cooking. So she was going to pick up some pizza, and...

"Is everything okay in here?"

The horrible racket cut off just before Raiden stuck his head out of the kitchen and said, "Oh, hey! Everything's fine, why do you ask?"

"I just heard... sounds?" She tried.

"I didn't hear anything," Raiden said, oblivious, "but I was singing pretty loud."

"-oh! Must have been my imagination, then," she completely lied.

"Maybe the squirrels were making a racket," Raiden suggested. "Hi! I'm Raiden. How can I help you?"

"Rey. I'm here for pizza," she said. "Maybe obviously."

"You could also be here for calzones," Raiden pointed out. "Or pasta." No one ever remembered the pasta. Maybe he should put some kind of pasta on special. Hmm.

"Oh, that's gonna be confusing. My friends and family call me Ray sometimes."

"I don't know how to unconfuse that. That's the only name I've got," Rey told him.

You know what name she wasn't using? Ever?

Raiden shrugged his massive shoulders, unconcerned. "Eh. We'll figure it out if it ever pops up." His brother was named 'Gray,' after all, which was pretty close (and had once been even closer, but Raiden never thought about Gray's old name any more). He was used to it.

"So, what sounds good?" He slid a handwavey menu across the counter, and said, "We've just got the one special today," as he gestured to the board.

"Well, I have no idea what a Philly cheesesteak is but it sounds good," Rey said, because she was a trusting soul who liked new things.

"It's delicious," Raiden promised her. "Okay, so a Philly cheesesteak is usually a sandwich--thin sliced steak, grilled peppers and onions, melted cheese. So that, but on a pizza."

"That sounds incredible. I need a large for leftovers." No one knew how much she loved having leftovers.

Was she sure there would be leftovers from a large? Raiden was dubious. He would never have had leftovers from that. In fact, he would probably need another pizza. He was just going to ring that up with some garlic knots on the side (free, natch), just in case. After he'd sent the order to the kitchen he told her, "It'll be just a few minutes."

"Thank you," she said, and ventured, "You were at Caritas the other night, right?"

He stood out.

"Was it the hat?" Raiden asked. "You noticed the hat, right?"

He was only partially joking. There had been a lot of tall guys in that bar.

"It was absolutely the hardest." Also Yennefer pointing him out. "Did you have a good time?"

"Oh, yeah!" Raiden exclaimed. "I met a vampire named Eric, and we uh. Had fun later." A lot of fun. "I hope you had a good time, too!"

Maybe not as good of a time as Raiden's. He wasn't sure humans could survive that good of a time.

"Probably not as good a time," she said, having met Eric, and having seen Eric pantless for like most of those times. "But I think that's what the dates are supposed to be for."

"I think they're for whatever you make of them, really," Raiden argued. "My little brother did it and he's not in a position to, uh, date anybody." Not without a lot of explaining, anyway.

"I usually just go to meet people, if I'm going to do it at all," she said. "I've gotten the impression about half the people are at least hoping for more."
