Parents' Weekend Family Festival, The Park, Saturday

The lovely fall weather was still hanging around today, creating the perfect setting for some outdoor activities to facilitate family bonding and give people a distraction from trying to answer awkward questions about exactly what this place was all about.

Enjoy some food, get creative with pumpkins, and maybe meet some new people!

Steven and Marc were there. As they'd done yesterday, they wore an outfit that combined both their wardrobes and no name tag, making it easy for them to switch as needed. This time it was Steven in control of the body but Marc was awake.

They kept an eye out for Layla or anyone else that they might know or want to talk to.

Having had to have missed the Meet & Greet yesterday due to work, Graham, despite not having any guests for the weekend, was surely not going to miss this! And so he came riding on in, mounted, of course, on Triumph, as they ambled in to see the sights and keep an eye out for friends and their guests so that maybe he could meet even more people!

Hellboy was taking as much advantage of being out in the open and not staying in the BPRD all the time so he was there and this time he had his photo album that was full of photos of all the cats and he was totally willing to show off the photos to anyone who was interested.

Lester was not impressed by how much glitter there seemed to be and how much of it had seemed to land on his suit.

He was going to send Connor alone to Fandom next year, Cutter could deal with both Connor's then.

The meeting with Hellboy had gone a lot better than she thought it would and they had managed to make it through to the next day at least.

Liz was still feeling a bit self conscious about being around so many people but she still wanted to make the most of the weekend with Hellboy and Professor Broom and spend as much time as she could with them while they were at Fandom.

Silvia still thought this place was a little unusual but Guillermo seemed to really enjoy being at the school and it was nice to see him with friends.

She looked around while Guillermo went to get them both some food, now that she wasn't feeling as overwhelmed as she had yesterday at the picnic, it was nice being able to take everything in.

Well. Prompto had made it out of yesterday without Hellboy completely hating his guts and had, in fact, gotten an overview of a lot of cat pictures out of the whole deal, so he was feeling pretty good about today. Even better? No shades, not even with all the light shining off the glitter, so that was nice! He was even occasionally sending a somewhat fascinated look toward the sky, like he'd never seen it before, because, let's be real here, he'd missed the sun, and to look up and see something other than just darkness and stars was still incredibly novel and a relief to him.

He was feeling so good about everything that day, in fact, that he was really waiting for the other shoe to drop and for something to go horribly, horribly wrong again, but, having experienced enough of that over the years, he was definitely going to seize the opening for all it was, and even had his camera out again, taking advantage of the nice day to get some good shots, and man, did he miss this too...

So Goose had managed to survive the first night having his dad stay in his apartment, even after Walsh had realised that he wasn't getting his security deposit back with the stain on the ceiling.

Even though Walsh wasn't that big on gatherings, Goose had convinced him to spend some time at the park since it wasn't like they would be able to be so open about the fact that Goose was Walsh's son back home.

Billy hadn't been at the picnic yesterday as he was visitor-less. But he was tired of the apartment and so he figured he would stop by, just for a bit, today. There was free food there supposedly so, why not?

Stark had opted to keep Chiana close by last night. Somehow letting her loose on the unsuspecting island had seemed unwise. He was hoping to keep her nearby today as well so he was accompanied by his pretty grey friend when he arrived at the park.

She was delighted by the glitter, and excitedly exclaimed that she'd seen pumpkin carving the first time she'd been to Earth.

Stark was slightly less delighted. He was feeling very uneasy about things today, for some reason. Maybe due to the extremely awkward introductions at the fire station yesterday.

"What would you like to do?" he asked her, looking around.

"Everything! You got more friends to meet?"

At first, something like a hay ride seemed like just the thing that wouldn't be too exhausting for Becky to handle with a very excitable and friendly one-year-old to bounce on her knee, but she got one look at the very strange little yellow man with the top hat that kept saying 'ooooh wheeee' and decided that, actually, the hay ride might be a bit too much after all.

Libby had spent some time explaining to her last night that this place got all sorts of people (as evidenced by the multitude of various skin tones running everywhere from grey to bright reds and blues that she'd witnesses herself and still didn't know what to make of), but it was still a lot to take in. She thought about just sticking around the hotel, but, really, she didn't want any of the kids to worry or fuss over her too much, either, so she was just going to find a nice spot off to the side to settle in with Hope, maybe let her crawl around a little bit and go hunting for leaves and acorns in the grass, and just try to keep an eye on Libby, Just, and Zo in the meantime, too.

If she got the chance, she'd ask Libby to maybe point out some of her teachers, maybe she could see how she'd been doing with everything, as well, although she knew her eldest daughter very well, and she could just tell that this place had been doing wonders for her.

This seemed interesting, and they needed something to do until Lana was done with her "office hours", so Arallt and Ashara came out to the park.

All right, fine, this place was definitely charming, and Alex was taking pictures of all the decorations, texting a couple of them back to Charlotte. After the third one Charlotte texted her back: I'll warn Ryan that you're probably bringing back the invasive craft glitter species with you 😜

Steph had a store to run, so she'd given Alex a spare key to the house and set her loose to explore on her own -- a prospect that would have absolutely terrified Alex a year and a half ago, but Haven had been great for getting her acclimated to dealing with people again.

She was mostly wandering around, people-watching a bit.

The Aunties were out in force again each sporting yet a different red hat and purple dress combination.

"I must say when you first explained about this being a nexus I wasn't exactly sure what you meant," Aunt Camilla said, staring around once again at the wide variety of beings.

"No kidding," Auntie Gwen muttered.

"Of course you didn't Camilla," Auntie Jane said grimly. "Because you never listen. Did you honestly think I wouldn't have checked this out thoroughly before sending Charlie here? She is Wild in case you'd forgotten. Now put on smiles or at least some sort of vaguely welcoming expression or you're going to frighten away anyone who might want to talk to us."

"Or whom we might want to talk to," Auntie Gwen said, eyeing several attractive people.

"Honestly, Gwen, the desk clerk last night wasn't enough? All right, smiles everyone."

George was here! George was... looking around wide-eyed at everything, still not quite over what Detective Murdoch had been hiding from him all this time.

(Well, and Watts to some degree, but Murdoch had apparently lived here for years, as a boy, and yet insisted things like aliens and time travel and magic were all just fantasy when clearly they were not.)

After a most-of-the-family breakfast jammed around the table in Raiden's apartment, which had not been designed for five guys the size of...anyone in the family except Gray, Gray and Raiden had successfully combined their puppy dog eyes powers to convince their brothers that a fall festival totally sounded like a good idea.

"I still haven't heard how you guys got Alastair to agree to face paint at Pride," Gray was saying as they entered the park.

Lana showed up after her "office" hours, then proceeded to drink more coffee once she was here. It was a good thing she could control her metabolism, or she might be up all night.

Now, if only she could control the amount of glitter determined to stick to her.

Alara was definitely enjoying the slightly cooler temperatures and she had enjoyed catching up with her sister yesterday, even if there was still no word from her parents, who were still not talking to her.

She was determined to enjoy the weekend though and was helping herself to a plate of food as she was looking around.

Connor was there again, feeling a little off after the other day. But he was there and doing his best to enjoy the day. And the food and drinks because no matter the mood he was in, Connor was Connor and he loved to eat. So he had a plate of goodies and a glass of apple cider and was happily using that to distract him for a bit.

Kurt was there again, and of course, enjoying the delicious food and drinks. Maybe he would go on a hayride or check out the pumpkin carving tables at some point. Right now he was just looking around to see who all had shown up so far.
