Turtle & Canary; Monday [09/26].
The music that was usually playing at Turtle & Canary was generally your standard generic elevator-esque style music, but for grocery stores, inoffensive, mildly catchy, totally bland and beige and overall unnoticeable. Usually. It just droned on in the background in a way that barely made you aware of it.
So when something else came over the the speakers that wasn't a garbled announcement from an employee, it was a little jarring. Especially when that something else was a very serious message about mesothelioma.
Because it was apparently Mesothelioma Awareness Day, y'all, and you or your loved ones may be entitled to financial compensation!
"Seriously?" asked Summer, after a while, once she managed to catch Apu enough to give him a withering look. "I couldn't have just had hot lumberjacks, instead?"
When Apu just shrugged and went back to his sweeping, she called out after him, "I hope you know, we are definitely going to be talking about your priorities during your next performance review, mister!"
And then she sighed and went back to low-key panicking about the fact that she was supposed to be doing a bachelorette party this weekend.
