Caritas; Wednesday [09/28].

There was a long, long pause as Summer looked from the bottle Tino was proudly holding up to show her as something new that had just come into the bar recently, to Tino, then back to the bottle again, and she shook her head, turning to grab a pair of shot glasses for them.

"I desperately need to try that," she declared. "I think I may be broken."

Apparently, this self-realization was not going to stop her, and now there were smoked salmon vodka shots for anyone who wanted one.

Have a seat, relax, place bets on if any of the zombies lose any parts tonight...

Where the mechanical bull is feeling lonely after a short burst of excitement over the weekend, no doubt.

But for real, I do legit kind of want to try that vodka, and I'm starting to get concerned.

"I have got to try the smoked salmon vodka shots," Goose declared as he realised that they were available.

To the absolute surprise of no one.

Cutter was beginning to realise that he really needed to get out more and so he decided to try the bar tonight.

He had a look over the specials, saw there was smoked salmon vodka shots and realised he was perhaps a bit out of his depth here, “I think I’ll stick with scotch please,”

"They're actually not bad?" said Summer, in a tone that definitely seemed more confused than confident, but since she was not at all surprised that Goose would be interested, she poured him one and slid it over. "But, no offense, I might wait until a more refined palate chimes in on that one before I stop worrying about my own."

She then followed up that vodka shot with a neat line of the jello ones, because Goose.

"How've you been, Goose? Rest of your weekend with Walsh go well?"

"Nothing wrong with a good, solid scotch," Summer allowed, with a nod, because there were other drinks, people! And she was capable of getting them! She just pushed the jello on most of you because it was fun. "You like it neat, or on the rocks?"

Goose grinned as he went for the smoked salmon vodka shot first and downed it, "none taken," he said, "even though I did quite like that," again, not really a surprise there Goose.

He paused, "it did go well, even though I told him about me and Ignis ... he thinks I made him up," it had been one of the weirder conversations they'd had that weekend.

"I'll have it neat please," Cutter nodded, he looked back over the specials, "are these specials normal around here?"

There was a pause, as Summer tilted her head and squinted her eyes a little.

"Why would you make something like that up?" she wondered, although, really, when she worked it out from Walsh's perspective, she could maybe see where he was coming from, especially when you got to the whole 'I've been seeing someone but, no, you can't meet him, because he's portal blocked in another dimension right now and has been for months.'

It was practically the Fandom equivalent of 'you wouldn't know her, though, she goes to another school.'

"The jello happens every Wednesday," Summer assured (?) him, with a nod, pouring the drink (a little on the heavy side, because that was her jam), and setting it in front of him. "Well, every Wednesday that I'm here and able, anyway. Of course, there are always exceptions. Highly recommended, although, of course, I know they're not for everyone. But, with a nice scotch like that," she nodded at the drink, before leaning forward on the bar a little on her folded arms and a glance toward the board, "I'd say a little pumpkin pie or chai would compliment it nicely."

"I think he probably thought that it wasn't possible for Supertroopers to develop close relationships," Goose considered as he went for his next shot, "he didn't even mind when I told him that I was interested in guys as well," that had been one of his concerns revealing that, "I mean ... I do want Walsh to meet Ignis but I think he thought it was rather suspicious that I told him I've been in a relationship and he can't meet him,"

"I haven't done shots since university," Cutter admitted as he moved the glass of scotch towards him, "well I suppose there's no harm in trying right?" well except for the inevitable hangover when he had to teach first thing the next morning, "I think I'll try a pumpkin pie," he decided.

"I don't want to know what the last one is, do I?" Stark asked as he narrowed his eye at the specials board.

"But the others seem fine I think."

"The others are fine," Summer confirmed and, as a matter of fact, was already going to get some for Stark. "The less known about the last one, the better."

There was nothing really new there.

"How've you been, Stark?"

She wasn't really expecting anything new there, either, considering it had only been about a day, but hey, you never knew! A lot could happen in a day!

"I think," Annie decided, easily sliding onto a barstool, "I want to try all of the first four."

When one lived across the street and didn't have anywhere to be until the late afternoon tomorrow, one could try all the jello shots one wanted.

Besides, it was her bachelorette week.

"God," said Summer, "the fact that you would even be concerned that he would mind when you're, like, from a hundred years in the alleged future is so depressing. And, also, like, you jumped straight on calling him 'dad' pretty much the literal second you found out and were able to; if that doesn't show how not only are Supertroopers capable of developing close relationships, but downright starved for them, probably due to having been denied them entirely for so long, then I don't know what would."

"Oh, there's definitely plenty of harm," said Summer, especially since, no offense, but it did look like 'since university' might have been a not insubstantial amount of time for Cutter, "but they're easily mitigated and well worth the hassle. Also:"

She set down a pumpkin pie shot proudly.

"Look how cute they are!"

It was her bachelorette week! Summer had even been totally super awesome about communicating that in a narrative way!

She nodded in approval, as she started to set out the shots, and then, to make up for the aforementioned flightiness, stated, "A little pregame before Friday, right?"

Because of course Summer was bringing jello shots to your bachelorette party, Annie. Of course.

But nothing had happened in a day, alas!

"Fine since yesterday," Stark said, reaching for the pie shot before shaking his head and going for the wine one first. "Nothing exciting happened after class or today. So far."

You never knew what might happen though.

"And you?"

The little redirect from the pie to the wine had Summer tilting her head a little bit, but then she shrugged. "Nothing too exciting to report," she admitted. "Just finalizing a few things for Annie's bachelorette party on Friday and getting a ulcer from worrying that she'll think it's lame or stupid."

Which was probably silly, she knew, but also it had to be the epitome of awful feelings to totally biff on your best friend's bachelorette party, and Summer could not handle that.

Annie would, frankly, be disappointed if she were not. Allison and Kimiko had yet to even experience Summer's jello shots, so there would even be fresh blood in attendance.

"I kind of feel like I should be having a little bit of alcohol at a constant, steady pace for the next couple days just to make sure I'm ready," Annie teased, grinning at her. "Am I allowed to help? Because I'll totally help with stuff."

He was just saving the pie for last. Because it was the cutest one.

"Are you having a party here? Or somewhere else? I don't know anything about bachelorette parties. But I don't think you need to worry."
