Wednesday: 43 Unicorn Street, soon to be Plant Parenthood

Nell was home today researching a good kosher and vegan meal as well as non-vegan meal to bring to Steven and Marc's tonight. Once she'd settled on what she was making she began cooking and baking as of course, homemade bread should be a part of any meal.

Liz was supposed to stop by at some point to plant some herbs, so Nell also made sure she had some tasty muffins to share with her as well.

The store front below was lit up since they'd be doing the planting there and if anyone else happened to walk by and want to stop in a bell would ring upstairs and Nell would pop right down. The sign was up, so it certainly looked all official and everything.

Liz had decided to go for a walk later that morning before she stopped by Nell’s, since Prompto had taken Rain to visit Sidon at the shelter and she didn’t have much work to do at the store.

It didn’t take her long to get there after her walk, so she rang the bell and waited.

Nell left Cygnus and Rigel upstairs and quickly slipped downstairs to the store. "Liz," she said with a smile. "Come in!"

“Thank you,” Liz smiled as she entered, she had a look around, “this place looks incredible ,” she told her.

"Thank you," Nell said. It was simple, but everything was clean and neat and inviting. "Hospitality and safety to you while you're here. I've got some herbs set up for you back there, but you're welcome to look around first if you'd like."

“Thank you,” Liz smiled, “I’d love to have a look around first if that’s okay?”

"Of course!" Nell stood back to let her in. Liz would find plants, seedlings, and various soils and pots for planting along the back side with teas and tinctures closer to the counter. There were also handmade lotions and soaps and a few jars of jams and jellies. There'd be more later.

Liz took her time as she had a look at all the different plants and lotions and soaps and the jams, she smiled as she looked over everything, “you’ve done a wonderful job with everything,” she told her, “do you have much left to do in the store before you open?”

"It's pretty much ready to go," Nell said, "but Lana asked me if I wanted to come along on the school trip, so I wanted a little time after I got back to make sure everything's all spic and span."

“The school trip does sound good,” Liz smiled, “I’m going to be looking after Steven’s fish while he’s away next week, even though he’s not going on the school trip,” she explained. “Prompto and I might get started on the nursery, we’ve settled on a colour scheme,” she added.

"Oh? What did you decide on," Nell asked.

“We decided on yellow for the main colour and a pink and blue diamond motif as well,” Liz told her with a smile.

"Pretty," Nell said with a smile. "I bet that will keep you busy for a while."

“It will, I’ve been working on the crib with Amaya and Dwight’s been working on some furniture for the nursery as well but it will be nice to start working in the nursery itself, see it all come together,” Liz smiled fondly as she imagined how it would end up looking.

"With Amaya?" Nell asked curiously. "I never would have thought of that. I'd love to see it when it's done. All of it, really."

Liz nodded, “I’ve been using my powers to help build it,” she explained, “Dr. Lecter suggested it as a way to focus on my powers, it’s coming together really nicely,” she smiled, “I’d love to show the nursery when it’s finished,”

'THat's wonderful," Nell said. "I look forward to seeing it all."

Liz gave a smile, “I also think the nursery will look wonderful with some plants as well,” she added, “I think maybe growing a few new plants as well as some herbs might be nice if that’s okay?”

"Of course," Nell said. "I have stuff out for growing herbs in the back."

She had small pots ready to plant basil, thyme, rosemary, and parsley, as well as a larger pot to grow catnip in. She also had a couple of small African violet plants for Liz to choose from if she wanted.

Liz smiled, “that sounds lovely,” she told her, “I’m looking forward to planting them, seeing how they turn out,”

Nell led her back to the workbenches in the back and showed Liz the different seeds and pots. "They're pretty basic. Very similar to how we planted things before."

Liz nodded as she had a look over what was available, "basic sounds good, especially since I'm still only learning, I mean I've still got those plants we planted before but at least I can get better at gardening this way," she smiled.

"In the spring we can look at starting you a small garden, maybe, but in the winter, I always think basic is better. The light isn't as good and it's colder and drier.""

Liz nodded, "a small garden in the spring does sound lovely, it will be nice, especially since my daughter will be born by then," she said with a smile.

"Just be prepared to be always exhausted," Nell said. She might never have had children of her own, and likely never would, but she'd certainly seen and cared for enough. The mothers on God's Cloud of Glory were nothing if not prolific. "Easy might be best till you get used to it all. You're not going to want to have a lot of gardening to worry about."
