Turtle & Canary; Friday [10/14].

Prompto had, admittedly, been a little worried about what he was going to come into work to find on that Friday, since it would only be his second day, and both Summer and Shunsui were out on the school trip. But it turned out that this place was actually pretty good about running itself, especially with Apu around, and that the state of the store was the last thing he needed to worry about.

He should have been worried about coming in and finding that Apu had actually shaved his head and was intent on convincing Prompto to do the same.

"No way, man," he insisted, feeling the need to constantly lift his hands to his head now for extra protection, especially with Apu walking around brandishing an electric razor like that. "My hair is a very big deal, and believe me when I say I have shit," albeit potent, apparently!, "genetics, and so there's a good chance time is going to take care of that all on its own anyway. I have to appreciate these luscious locks while I can! I mean, come on, you wouldn't shave the cheese panda, would you?"

Apu's shoulders straightened with inspiration and he began to turn toward the cheese cooler, and Prompto had regrets.

"Oh, gods! Apu! Do not shave the cheese panda!"

At around lunchtime Liz stopped by with lunch, “hi,” she smiled brightly as she approached carrying the containers and bottles of water, “how has your morning been?”

"Well," said Prompto, and, if foregoing their usually obnoxiously adorable exchanging of greetings wasn't a big enough clue for Liz, the mildly traumatized, is this really what my life has become? look on his face should help. "Before I answer that question, let me ask you one: you'd still love me, right, if I had no hair?"

And as soon as he said it, he wished he hadn't, because, ohgods, what if the answer was actually no?

He probably wouldn't blame her, though, he'd seen what he'd look like without hair back in the labs, and it was freaky as hell, but, then again, that might have also have been due to the whole clones floating in a pod waiting to be turned into mindless soldiers or worse of it all.

Liz blinked a little, tilting her head at the question as she looked up at Prompto.

“Of course I would still love you,” she assured him, “why do you ask?”

Maybe Prompto was planning on shaving his head?

"Because Apu is on a warpath," Prompto explained. "Some kind of celebrating baldness day, or something, which, I don't know, seems to kind of defeat the purpose if you're making yourself bald. I think I can stave him off, though..."

He then gave Liz a faint smile.

"Also? Hi."

“Oh,” Liz blinked, looking around to make sure that Apu wasn’t around before she leaned in over. the counter,

“Hi,” she giggled.

Well, now that reassurances about the state of his hair were out of the way, if there was going to be leaning in over the counter, don't mind if Prompto leaned in, as well, on his elbows, taking a moment to just appreciate that giggle.

"He tried shaving the cheese panda, too, you know," he informed her, figuring he should at least impart that very important detail to her, as well.

“Why did he want to shave the cheese panda?” Liz asked curiously as scheduled leaned a bit further over the counter as she could.

There definitely wasn't a whole lot of space left to lean into at that point, and Prompto grinned. "Again," he explained, "in the effort to spread and celebrate baldness, apparently. If you're going to stick around, you might want to be careful. He might try to make you bald, too. That guy is a menace."

“Oh no,” Liz couldn’t help but grin, “I’m not sure I could pull off the bald look,” and now that the gap had closed considerably between them, she leaned in to give him a much deserved kiss.

Any thoughts or opinions about this new potential change in direction of Liz's style was going to just have to wait for a while, then, because if there was going to be kissing, that was clearly going to take priority, and Prompto was going to take his time with returning those kisses and enjoying them.

While absolutely keeping an ear open for the telltale sound of an electric razor. Thankfully, one got to be very good for picking up audible cues of imminent danger when it was constantly surrounding you for ten years.

So far, it seemed, they were safe, although he did eventually pull away just enough to (after flicking his eyes over her shoulder, just to be sure) grin at her and report, "You could definitely pull off the bald look. You could pull off any look. But I will admit, I am in no rush to be proven right on that statement."

And now that that was out there, he would be in more of a rush to procure more of those kisses, definitely.

Liz was definitely taking her time with those kisses, especially since it had been so long since they had last done any kissing and all.

When they did pull apart slightly, she blushed slightly and couldn’t help but giggle, “I mean my hair has changed quite a bit this year, it wouldn’t take long to go bald,” she considered, “but I’m in no hurry either to find out what it looks like on me either,” she assured him.

Then she happily leaned back in to resume the kissing.

Oh, gods, it had probably been several hours since there had been any kissing, obviously far too long. It was a good thing they were making sure to make up for such a wide gap in being absolutely disgusting and insufferable.

"I do like the shorter hair he offered, with a fond smile and a light brush of his fingers against the fringe of the longer side of it, in that next space between kisses. "But I liked your longer hair, too. Thus only proving my point."

Liz stared up at Prompto, enjoying the feel of his fingers in her hair as there was a pause in the kissing.

She started going red at the compliment, “I never thought my hair would be this short,” she considered, “it had been long ever since I was a kid,” she added, “maybe I’ll grow it back out one day,”

"A little bit of a change can be a good thing," Prompto mused, "and that is the good thing with hair, you can always just let it grow or change it again."

Said the man still rocking essentially the same 'do for ten years, but it was shorter now, a little more contained, took slightly less time to style in the morning.

Liz smiled brightly at that, “that’s true, maybe one day I’ll even go blonde like the other me was at that reunion,” she considered.

"I'd love to see you blonde," Prompto admitted, and, oh look whose fingers were just going to be lightly, fondly, brushing through her current dark hair with a smile. And then, a small laugh. "It's honestly hard to even picture it, though, really."

“I’m sorry I don’t have any photos of what I looked like that weekend,” Liz said a bit apologetically and she laughed when Prompto did, smiling brightly when his fingers ran through through her hair, “even though I did rather like the look of the blonde hair,” she considered.

"Well," Prompto's grin had a small laugh in it, "like I said, you could pull off any look, so I am not surprised."

His expression went a little softer, then, as his attention shifted, oh so slightly, and he nodded a bit downward.

"What do you think she's going to have? Blonde hair or dark?"

Liz smiled as she followed Prompto's gaze, "I'm not sure," she said softly, "maybe it will be like a light brown blonde?" she considered, "it will be a mix of both?"

"Maybe!" Prompto laughed a little again, trying to think back to when they'd had Noctra and Lucius, and wasn't that what theirs had been like? Sandy brown with his bright blue eyes...But those things were never really guarantees, especially if you considered that they were having just the one kid, unless they'd really been missing something with those exams. And genetics could be...well...

"That's be nice, I think," he said, with a soft smile. "Guess we'll just have to wait and see, huh?"

"I guess we will," Liz said with a fond smile, "we're almost at the five month mark, Tuesday's my next appointment. It's going by so fast," she said softly.
