Look at who remembered she had responsibilities outside of the Darkhold today. Wanda hadn't showed up to work on time, but she had shown up. She had noticed the cats, sure, but she figured one of her employees was taking over the Halloween decorating since she sure as shit wasn't doing it this year.

Live cats was a little over the top though...oh well, not her problem.

She did conjure up some toys for them to play with though, she wasn't totally heartless.

"They are," Wanda agreed. "And I don't think they can do too much damage to anything in here."

Jane looked around quickly, tugging the cat covered cape closer to prevent herself from knocking anything over. "And they have toys to distract them from it too," Jane said like a cat wouldn't ignore the most expensive toy in order to play with a hair tie.

"That was all me," she admitted. "How have you been, Jane? It's been a minute."

Wanda, naturally, blamed that on herself rather than anybody being a reindeer.

"I... turned into a reindeer for a week," Jane said, trying not to sound as deeply confused by that as she honestly was. Even after being all tied up with the Norse pantheon as she was. "With a cape on. And the hammer still."

So, just picture that one, Wanda.

"That's...actually really cute," Wanda said with a smile. "I turned into a snake before. Not as cute. And I got harassed by a corgi."

"Thor always loved snakes," Jane said loyally. Which was precisely why Loki was able to stab him after turning into one. "I'm sure you were a very pretty snake. The color scheme and all."

"Oh I was very red," she confirmed. "The not having legs thing was weird though."

"Four legs was also very weird," Jane replied. "And the antlers?"

Those ended up being pretty cool, actually.

"Is that all a here thing or a home thing?"

Because it could be both, honestly.

"My only experience with it has been here," she said. "But I know better than to say it can't happen anywhere else."

Yeah, home was increasingly... insane.

"Well, as long as none of the cats change back into people, I think this is relatively okay. Compared to other things out there."

"Oh, that'd be a lot of naked people if that happened." So many parts flopping everywhere. "I hope these are just cats. Cats I can deal with."

"I might take some humans," Jane admitted. "I haven't really had much of a chance to test out the whole... superhero thing in much more than some sparring sessions so far."

Give her a villain, people! She'd take Stilt-Man at this rate!

"Yeah, there really hasn't been any attacks lately." How sad for everyone. "What are you looking for in a sparring partner? I take it not a witch."

That would be unfair on both sides, really. Wanda couldn't take a hit with a hammer like the other Avengers could.

Yeah, it would probably be more than a little one-sided.

"Just someone or something I could... let loose with, you know? I don't even know everything I can do."

Wanda thought about that for a moment. "So you need something you can really beat the crap out of, but won't just stand there like a dummy."

That she understood. Moving, attacking targets were important to go up against for training. Her Steve had told her that enough in the past.

"I might be able to help?" she said. "But you can tell me if it's too weird."

"You could?" It should be too shocking, they used magic in Asgard, after all.

"Yeah, I think." Way to have confidence in yourself, Wanda. "I mean, I've never done it before, but I've been studying a lot of magic lately and I think I can make some enemies for you?"

Demons, Jane. She meant demons.

"But they'd be like real enemies." After Westview, Wanda was very confident in her ability to create barriers, so the island would be safe, but Jane would definitely not be.

"That would be really nice," Jane said, but probably wouldn't if she knew the demon thing. But, you know, the gesture was nice. "It can be practice for you too!"

Win-win.

Jane, don't encourage Wanda to perfect summoning demons.

"You're right," she said with a nod. "We just have to figure out a place to do it where the whole town won't freak out."

She could and would! In the words of Vhagar... fuck that one kid specifically.

"Maybe out in the preserve? It's usually pretty empty."

Well, we all know Meemaw is never wrong.

"That could work," Wanda said, knowing that she had blasted more than a few trees there with no lasting damage. "I can put up a shield and that should prevent anything from getting too crazy."

Should.

"I'm sure we can handle it," Jane said with zero evidence to back that up beyond Wanda actually being an Avenger here.
